    Bucket type

I'm sure you can buy a wider light weight bucket for your tractor from any dealer, the issue becomes the limitation of the loader lift capacity. You could also consider a front snow pusher but the practical use depends on the area you are clearing. I use a rear 3pt mounted pto driven snow...

Never-seize on rotary cutter blade bolts

I use anti seize on blade bolts, they normally have castle nuts and cotter pins too. I don't own a torque wrench that covers the 400 ft/lb plus range so I just tighten them down with my 3/4 drive 4' breaker bar to a point where the castlenut hole lines up and I'm convinced they will not come...

    Skidding Logs??

Take a look at the Tractor Transformer hitch & Log boom arm from pallet forks.com I use a Farmi skidding winch for pulling trees onto tracks with my MX5800, I often have a helper that uses the transformer hitch and log boom on my L3901 to help pull the trees out along the trails. Transformer...

    Tractor Advice

Have L3901 and MX 5800, in my opinion the only option is the MX, I don’t know much about older larger L but you are looking at new. The MX is very capable for all of the things you described. I would also recommend R1 tires, loaded tires. Quick attach on loader, maybe rear remotes.

Need Advice on Tasks and Tractor to Accomplish Them

You have lots of tractor work but not a lot of back hoe work, invest your money in reasonable tractor and rent mini excavator for hoe work. Implements on wooden carts on castors works great. HST for ease, 4wd for ground work.

    Shipping tractor cost?

I’ve had luck with uship.com, I needed to move a small dozer and found a local guy to pick up area who was very reasonable, he had lots of great reviews for moving, cars, tractors and heavy equipment. Good luck in your search.

Hard time connecting flat face connectors on grapple

I just get 2 pipe wrenches and loosen fitting, let it leak a little fluid and then tighten the fitting. It has happened several times this summer with my large high flow 3/4 flat face connectors on track loader attachments, tractor attachments are easier to manage.

    Norse 450 winch

Logging winches are so useful, I have a Farmi, I purchased new after 2 years searching for a reasonably priced used one, so few come up for sale. How do you like your winch?

    Brush Hog question

Parts will be the cheaper part of the bill, I’m guessing just under $100 for 2 blades and 2 new bolts. The labor will depend on how easy the job runs, I’ve had a real difficult time with one brush hog and a surprisingly easy time with another, at least your dealer will have the experience and...

    Tree Saw on a L2501

I have a 3pt pto Turbo Saw LT3200, it’s a little heavier than the Sidney model in the video, it is as new, I’m thinking of selling it as I moved to a track loader and front cutter.

    1998 L2650

Depends on hours too, I’m guessing price will be anywhere from $6,000 to $10,000

    MX5100D Tractor Purchase

Welcome to the forum. It sounds like you have found a nice machine. Many owners don’t put many hours on their tractors it is not uncommon to have 270 hours after 7 years. Are you buying from a dealer or private? As you comment it is important to check that everything works as it should and to...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Another amazing summer day in the woods in Michigan, clearing for a woodland food plot, L3901 runs the chipper to clear and tidy up the debris after running the Kubota track loader with a heavy front end cutter through the area. Next task will be the MX5800 with a large 84" rake to level things out.

What to mow around pond with?

Here's an interesting option, there is a similar product called a Lane Shark, your MX loader will handle either of these and you have above the recommended tractor weight. If I was buying one I would OPT for the separate hydraulic rear PTO pack. http://trailblazerattachments.com/tb-flex.html

    L2501HST 50Hr Hydraulic Fluid Change?

As you are changing the hydraulic and HST filters you will catch some of the hydraulic fluid, this will allow you to inspect the Super UDT2 fluid and then you can make an informed decision. If you don't mind the cost I would replace the fluid after the initial 50 hours, you need approximately...

    front end weights

I went through this same issue 3 years ago looking for front weights for a used 2011 L3200 that I purchased, I could not find another solution that was viable other than ordering them through my local dealer, I had to buy a front weight bracket to bolt onto my tractor first. My bracket holds 5...

Do gear driven 4701 burn up clutches?

It sounds like you are open to HST, personally I have 3 HST tractors and enjoy driving them all, I don't think power loss is an issue if you are buying a L4701. It also sounds like you really want R1 tires and based on your comments I agree with you that you should buy R1 tires. With regard to...
