    grapple and third function

Re: grapple and thrid fuction If LP is $800 more I would either ask the dealer to match EA or just get EA. IMO they are both great brands.

    thoughts on ether?

Most mechanics I have seen on this and TBN would strongly discourage using any type of starting fluid...including ether. It can cause damage. Block heater is a much better idea.

    Grapple Opinions Again

Looks like you are at about 3000lbs lift at full height right? What are you lifting over a ton? I agree you dont want to loose a bunch, but if you find something around 600-800 lbs it should be a good mix of strength and weight.

    Grapple Opinions Again

This is the kind I have, also called a root grapple. The shape of the bottom row of tines allows it to dig into the soil and pop smaller roots out, and even do some minor harrowing :). I mainly use mine for the above, brush, logs, and rocks. The trick with these is that you dont really scoop...

    New B2601 or used 2301

I agree, 3 HP wont matter for hydraulics. If they are the about same weight and frame, go with the B2301.

    Backhoe BT603 vs Mini K008

In my opinion you are asking the wrong questions. You dont decide on a Mini Ex vs a backhoe based on digging forces alone. You decide on one based on the application and tasks you need to accomplish. For instance, if you need to travel across a 20 acre property 5 times a day to dig, the...

10 acres - what would you get?

Heavier is always better for ground engaging tasks. For a rear blade you want one that will cover the rear wheel width when angled. Most get 1 ft wider than the rear wheels when it is not angled. Your dealer should know. I have an RB2684 with hydraulic angle, but my tractor is heavier than...

    M59 week power steering

Russo if you don’t get answers here, there are a number of M59/62 owners on TBN. A few are engineers and know tractor mechanics much better than I. Does the WSM show how the power steering interacts with the main hydraulic pump? Any hoses or connections? Any fluid leaking around applicable...

    Kubota

You may have a short or something not wired properly. Check everything safely. I would NOT but a fuse rated at higher amperage than recommended by the manufacturer.

Spend my money - New 40-50hp Tractor. Kubota vs Massey

If you are doing 60% loader work, you should strongly consider HST. Of course geared is better for ground engaging...but Sidecar is a farmer. You arent. Get on and demo both. Here is my issue with Shuttle loader work. With shuttle, 1 hand on loader control stick, 1 hand on either the...

Beautiful place, thanks for sharing. There is no beating a ZT for mowing a nice lawn.

10 acres - what would you get?

I think an L size sounds right. I agree on borrowing larger equipment for your build if you can. If it costs you a ton to “rent” it, then maybe it makes sense to get a TLB. For me in the high mountains it was an easy choice.

    Advice on grapple

Forks and chains. Bolt on grapples are a waste IMO, especially for logs. It is really hard to work them with the bucket side panels. Spread forks to max width, balance log weight, use chain to secure log.

    1st tractor purchase

I am also concerned about the mud. Mud and tractors doesnt go well. Muddy compacted road...fine. Muddy field, no good. If it is wet most of the year, it will be bad. As long as you have enough acreage that dries out to do your tractor work on, you should be good. Try to make the machine...
