Plus with an l2501 you could score a pretty good deal if the timing is right. The model was discontinued for an updated l2502. Dealers sitting on l2501s will soon be looking to purge. Might get lucky and score a good deal.

A green tractor question...well, sort of.

Out of curiosity, have you tried yesterdays tractors? Thats where I've been buying parts and sometimes ebays a few bucks cheaper but everything has always shown up well packaged.

On the tractor itself it would be a no go if I were you. That's too much money for too many compromises. I would want a quick attach loader, and r14 tires (filled). Just those two changes your pretty much at the same money as a brand new B.

Are you sure its only got a 1900lb capacity? That doesn't sound right, unless its a single 3500lb axle. If that is indeed the case you will likely be over capacity. The tractor itself rolls in at just over 1400lbs DRY. I can't say for sure what the loader and back blade weight comes in at but...

    Maui Fire

Actually thats all true. The governor made a statement and you can watch it saying he had no regrets, and that he was in meetings with land developers. They are also restricting media access to much of the destroyed zones according to multiple outlets hence the same B footage being used over and...

    Z- Cadillac

Apparently not because I have a few friends in commercial landscaping and none of them spend that kind of money on one machine. Actually they all use the same strategy of buying cheaper JD machines and replacing the fleet every 2 years before the resale drops.

I have been on the lots pricing around. While those prices have really inflated too, you know what shares the same 84k msrp? A 700hp ram TRX. Sure it may not cut the grass as nice, but atleast it has A/C for that price.

Look if I bought a mower for 84k it better **** me while I cut the grass. Because I sure as hell better get something more than a nice yard for how hard the salesman did it to me before he handed me the keys.

More specifically, you can buy seven basic zero turns that size and just throw them out every time you need to service it. Broke a belt? Eh get a new one. Blades dulled? It's pretty risky picking those things up, better get a new one. Due for an oil change? That can get real messy. Just grab a...

So did my toro at 1/10th the price is what I'm getting at. And for what? Save a few bucks on fuel and belts? Over 20k difference buys a hell of alot of fuel and belts.

I guese I just don't understand why anyone would buy it. I mean it seems like a nice machine but for 27k? For only a 60" cut? You can buy several zero turns for that money. Many would have wider decks. Most would be just as durable. You could pick up an F series cheaper and have probably a more...

A green tractor question...well, sort of.

I assume they mount around the edges where thr two halves come together? If so I wouldn't really worry about how it mounts. If vibration is the concern you could swap the hardware to flange head bolts with flanged nylock nuts and pinch the tank between rubber washers so it floats the tank.

A green tractor question...well, sort of.

I wouldn't run it just out of principle. But if there is an issue with the seller you can always water test it first to make sure it will hold fuel. Plug the holes and give it a little air pressure using your hand as a seal ao you don't pop it. Or, they make a product called red coat that you...

Shipping wheel weights - a question

Could try fastenal. Or could try one of those shipping sites where hot shots bid on loads. If someones already heading that way it could be reasonable but don't get your hopes up.

    Loader arms misaligned

If it doesn't effect functionality I'd probably leave the grapple alone unless it is mild steel.

    Loader arms misaligned

For the loader arms, obviously the safest route is the dealer. I'm sure there are plenty of good ol boys that have bent them back themselves after an incident like that, myself included. But you could attempt to pick up something over capacity on the high side to force it back a little at a...

    Toothbar questions

These are the style of nut I was referring to. They eliminate a need for a lock washer or flat washer on the nut side. The ribs bite into the metal to lock them in place. As a bonus, they are easier to remove because they hold themselves until the bolt is loosened. The bolt itself has to be...

    2 Safety Questions

Neutral is for towing, I also prefer to lock in my 4wd in neutral just for zero load. Habit from trucks I suppose. Just to add to the safety aspect of this post and to my previous comment for anyone that comes across it, never put yourself under any suspended load. That includes under the...
