    Equipment fires

Sorry about the equipment fire, but appreciate the heads up. His videos are great. Prompted me to get extinguishers for the tractor and mini-ex. Room is tight inside cabs so got pathetic 2.5 pounders to supplement the 15 pounder in the shed. Will plan on putting a bigger one on the carryall...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

I have to ask for absolution for a deadly sin. I bought a Cat 1 carry all frame from TSC today. The sin. It's black and not Kubota orange. I know this is a serious breach of protocol and that I may be banned from the forum for this. I beg forgiveness but the price was right. Spent a few hours...

Perfect timing. Just struggled today to try to separate 2 plastic buckets. Finally gave up after uttering a phrase that rhymes with bucket.

    Cheater, cheater.........

Perhaps you mentioned it but are you using TIG or MIG? Not easy to get good "dimes." Nice work. Please keep posting.

Something to lift logs to cut into fire wood

Great idea. With the ripper being thin, plenty of room to cut around instead of bucket. You are a genius sir!! I chalk mark my cuts so it us easier to pick up in a convenient spot for cutting.

Something to lift logs to cut into fire wood

You can build a bucking deck. Plenty of ideas on YouTube. Basically an elevated "table" with only joists" and no flat surface. Think patio deck with no deck boards. Chainsaw cuts into log between spaces in joists. I'm building one now. BH bucket with thumb works great. I am spoiled as I have a...

    Trailer or drive it.

Truck and trailer at mechanic for service waiting on parts. I'll trailer it when vehicles are done. Thanks for checking in.

Sold the BX25D and bought a New L6060 Cab and Loader.

Think carefully about the type of snowblower you want. I got the front mounted commercial blower because of the steepness of my lot and the amount of snow we get at elevation here in NH. I also did not want to be strainig my neck driving in reverse. Unfortunately, even though I ordered in July...

Sold the BX25D and bought a New L6060 Cab and Loader.

Yes, you are right. The new tractor and mini ex are a winning combination. Funny that you expressed sentimentality towards equipment. I sometimes wondered if the BX was feeling sad about me selling her after we did so much together, lol. Crazy, I know.

Kubota M62, Or used Commercial Case, JD, JCB. Or Mini Ex?

I have a KX033 (shy of 4 tons) that I got used with less than 100 hours on it. I had a BX25D with a backhoe. For my purposes, the mini ex wins hands down. The 360 rotation is a huge advantage for dumping bucket where you want it without having to move machine. The thumb helps with moving logs...

Sold the BX25D and bought a New L6060 Cab and Loader.

Did exactly the same. Got the L6060 in December after ordering in July. Cab, FEL, forks, front snowblower. Still learning all the bells and whistles but glad to have the power/lifting capacity. I do miss the little BX25 for quick, small jobs though. Would have been nice to keep both if money...

Seems that "trailer it" is in the majority. Thanks for all the tips and opinions.

    Trailer or drive it.

Thanks all for the advice. Max speed limit is 35 on mostly paved rural NH road. Some sections gravel. I see the opinions vary. All make good points. It is a bit of an ordeal to secure trailer and tractor. DOT wants/prefers 4 pt. chains and binders and FEL secured as well. I was mostly...

    Trailer or drive it.

Have L6060 I need to move to my house from woodlot 12 miles away. Top speed 17 mph. Back roads, at that speed 42 minutes. I have a trailer but loading and chaining it up, hitching to truck, and then unloading is time consuming ( estimate 90 minutes at best). Would you drive it or trailer it...

    Cat 2 vs cat 1

Have an new L6060 with Cat 2 3 pt hitch. Rear tires have total 1200lbs rimguard and I'm going to order a cheap cat 1 3pt ballast box (Chinesium, 5 cubic feet, 800 lbs) to balance the loader capacity. Going for about $240 delivered. I'll need bushings to get the cat 1 to fit the cat 2 hitch. As I...
