    Ads, ads, everywhere.

Ads are everywhere now. It's ingrained in our life with seemingly no end in sight, surely to get worse. When I buy stuff @ homedepot, even the cash register (self checkout) asks me if I want an emailed receipt. If I say yes, I am sure to get more ads in my email. If the wife uses a coupon @...

Snowblowing w/ turf tires - chains needed?

Been living in Atlantic Canada, on a ridgetop for many years and have always snowblowed my 220' gravel driveway w/ a small turnabout near the house by hand, walk-behind snowblowers. Have 2 walk-behinds. A "normal" Sears 32" cut single wheel snowblower and also a LARGE 13hp/45" cut Bolens...

    Tg1860g ecu needed!

I own the diesel version of the TG1860 so this comment may be way out in left field, but I wasn't aware the TG1860 even had a ECU. Have you checked for spark? Fuel? Air? On a gas engine the first thing to do is check for these 3, then timing I presume. Sorry-not much help here. Good luck sir.

    Soft Cab

I am anxious to hear any reports about a SOFT (canvas/plastic) cab on a BX or other small subcompact tractor. Did you like it, was it a pain, did it fog up, did it rip in the first windstorm, etc. etc. We get tons of snow and relatively high winds where I live on top of a bit of a...

    Battery Stone Dead

Left the dome light on? (kidding!) Good advice given above. May be a phantom draw of some kind, or alternator not charging. You could always measure voltage of battery at rest (tractor off) and see 12.2-12.4V or so @ rest and then start up and run at full throttle and see on your...

    Seat upgrades?

I usually mow with my TG1860--MUCH MUCH more comfortable than my nearly new BX because of it's dual suspension setup....disappointing, I wanted to mow with the BX but hey, that's life. What I did was: -Mow a little slower than what the BX is capable of. -Air down the turf tires slightly. (I...

Got to use my DIY diesel generator today.

Looks good.....What would you do in the middle of January with big snowbanks? ie: how would you get the genny that close to the house? (the cord looks too short once snow arrives) Honest question...I am thinking of something similar, but in Eastern Canada we get FEET of snow...sometimes I can't...

Warning About Mowing - Eye protection

Great advice ! ! ! I usually wear safety glasses in case of low hanging branches flipping back at me from all the trees I mow around and occasionally on windy days, airborne grasses and weeds coming back and smacking me in the face. I do have some allergies and found that wearing an N95 and...

    Do you name your equipment?

My wife likes to name our classic cars, but I don't usually refer to them as such. She tried to name the most recent Kubota, and I admit it's extra confusing now, as I won't refer to them by names. For the last 15-16yrs, my TG1860 was "The Tractor" and now that I (recently) also own a BX2380, we...

    TG1860 tranny filler cap

Unless mine is different, this is the belt that drives your hydrostatic transmission. The pulley you speak of is "roughly" 1/2 way between the 2 wheels and what spins the hydrostatic transmission, yes (as far as I know) Every time it comes off, I lose drive. This is also the box where (if you...

TG1860 stops driving within 200 ft.

I replied in your other thread but in my case I found I got some slippage and less speed with the original belt (which I've replaced a couple times), so the last time my belt fell off, I went to Princess Auto (Harbour Freight type store) on a weekend when Kubota was closed and bought the closest...

    TG1860 tranny filler cap

I've never looked under the seat, but the tube I am talking about (not guaranteed to be the correct one, you understand) will not/could not, be accessed from under the seat---it's nowhere near the seat. If you were kneeling down, directly behind the mower, you can (barely) see the rear "fan...

TG1860 stops driving within 200 ft.

Not sure if this is a trick question, but I think the first thing I'd do is, ummmm, put the belt back on the pulley ! !?: First run this season, It's going along cutting for about 100 yds, and then starts slowing down and quits rolling within 200 feet. Motor runs, tranny not moving tractor...

    TG1860 tranny filler cap

Mustagg Right to the point, eh? That's a great question. Rightly or wrongly, I filled mine with the vent pipe that exits the top and goes up to the left, rear of the machine. I couldn't figure out a good way to check the level of the fluid or fill it, but transmission was "slipping" and I...

out on a limb no more

I saw on a youtube video there is a rectangular, black, chunk of what I can only presume is metal, that sorta is attached to one side of the chain and it hangs down slightly. This apparently "rights" the chain in the proper orientation most of the time so the bidirectional teeth are cutting...
