    Retirement

Yup, there is the rub. How long do you plan out the cash flow ? My physical assets will be split equally between the kids. The 401K is willed to the grandkids' college or age 21. I told the kids that my 401K plan is for it to run dry the day after I pass. Now if I could just figure out when...

So, who are the potheads out there?

It has been awhile but all this talk has got me to thinking I need to take a trip to Great Barrington , MA and buy some pre-rolled. More PC than a home rolled and I may need to take the good car instead of the truck. Kubota and Stihls will sit silent as I watch the clouds roll on by. As my...

    Retirement

Males on my side of the family tend to die young. Oldest for the past couple of generations made it to 73. The females on my wife's side all went well into their 90's. So, we planned accordingly. I retired early when the money figures were all in the right place, Wife kept working until the...

The Air Force just figured this out ???

If you are asking about the PCBs. FOX, CBS, NY Daily news all published it 2 days ago. I was doing field testing for PCB 40 years ago and we knew the danger. It is safe to assume the Air Force also knew it back then. The health danger from the nasty stuff in agent orange (dioxins) were know...

The Air Force just figured this out ???

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Air Force has detected unsafe levels of a likely carcinogen at underground launch control centers at a Montana nuclear missile base where a striking number of men and women have reported cancer diagnoses. The rest of the world knew about PCB decades ago. It took this long...

So, who are the potheads out there?

I have a problem with the 21 to drink age. Back in the day I could drink at 18 BUT, the draft was also a very real issue. You can kill for US ,but, you can not drink is just stupid. Raise the selective service age to 21 and then tell me about being an adult ! Funny, but I was in bars well...

Awesome dogs / Crazy pets Thread

How does this dog know how to tie knots ? She must have been an Eagle scout or got her sea legs somewhere. If this knot got tight it would take me some time to get it out. Under, over, loop here and then head under the truck!

So, who are the potheads out there?

There are far more dangers with street pot today than when I was younger. While I hate giving the government so much in tax dollars for over the counter pot, I do know it is far safer than the street stuff. We never had to worry about laced pot. Not so today. The local pot shop has a leather...

So, who are the potheads out there?

Neither would I , BUT, I have known people to climb back into the seat after a couple of beers with lunch. To me that is just like a toke or two. I long ago stopped giving a shi* about what the government required from me. Never failed a random test but that was more inside information than...

So, who are the potheads out there?

Much of it comes down to CBD verse THC. CBD from hemp is widely used for inflammation. THC does have some impact on pain but is the compound for the high. I have found that the pot out of the dispensary can be much stronger than the pot I grew up with. Some is way to strong for me. My usage...

    What's cookin' boys?

My wife used to use a little grease (lard) and then a fine coating of corn meal. No real idea how she did her magic in the kitchen.

    What's cookin' boys?

No pic. If I fry some cod in bacon grease can I claim to be sticking to my diet? Damn, it was tasty !

    Note to Self…

At 14 I drained the oil in Mom's car and forgot the plug. She gave me cash and told me to start walking to buy 5 quarts of oil. The 8 mile round trip walk took me the better part of the day. Lesson learned . Always have a second car !!!!

Covid tests some kind of scam?

It is all a numbers game. Recent bills show it all too well. Helicopter to hospital charges medicare 60,000 (us). Medicare pays less than 10,000 and I pay 250. The difference is written off as a loss on the corporate taxes. Change the tax code so the cost to the government / user is a real...

How far do you travel on your tractor?

For a good friend I would make the run. Flashers on and as far right as possible. Locals here are used to tractors on the side roads and pulling over every now and then to clear traffic is a big help. Sheriffs will wave and pass as long as you appear safe. I would expect lunch and liquids as...

    Danica Patrick on female drivers

Gee, I thought it was land development, local politics, and shrinking fan base that closed all but a few local tracks.

Doctor should have been more specific

Ain't that the truth. My children do not want the property so once the grandkid moves on I will be finding a place with way less upkeep. If the B decides to quit before I move I will pay to have the nice lawn mowed, the driveway plowed and let the rest go back to nature.

Doctor should have been more specific

Sometimes you just have to do what you have to do. Tore a ligament in the knee. Orthopedist orders MRI with a five day waiting list, then 3 more days for office appointment. Who knows when surgery. He put on a hinged brace and said I can do limited walking and some minor bending. He didn't say I...

Some jobs have more risk than others

I see a green grounding wire so it must be safe.
