Looks like the Canucks are pushing back

They have a bunch of choices. 1. Get vax'd 2. Cross the border and isolate 2 weeks. 3. Do not cross the border. 4. Get a new job. 5. Whine and stomp their feet.

Only Back wheels spin on 4WD kubota?

On dry level ground 2wd turns easier and sharper. 4WD on pavement is not good for the mechanics. I once thought I was changing the gearing but took mine out of 4 WD. I got one rear wheel spin and thought I was in deep trouble. Stepped on the locker and made two rear wheel trenches to solid...

    New to Tractor Operating

Buy more grab hooks than you think you will need. I cut a 25 foot chain into several smaller lengths. Why man handle a long heavy chain when a short one works just as well. Like most, I drop the draw bar over the log and lift it just a little so I do not trench the yard. Long chain on lower...

    Winter wear/ Insulated gear

Don't forget the head ! I like a thick wool seaman's hat. I love my rabbit fur mad bomber. When flaps are down it is very warm. With ears up it may attract the attention of PC PETA crowd.

    Tractor cleaning?

Car soap and a gentle brush. Only washed a few times a summer. At 36 it is fine for it to show it's age ! Spray can of orange paint for the constant boot wear on the floor boards.

    Interesting Facts!!!!!!

Think globally. If you were born in Sub-Saharan Africa your expected life span would have been 45 with no access to what we take for granted. There are places in the US where infant mortality is high, drug use is high and education is poor. Life spans there are also much lower. I grew up...

    Do you drive fast?

My mom brought to the junk yard to get paper work out the glove box of the '71 Torino I totaled the night before. The yard guy said , 'Jeese, how many died in this one?" Mom told him that this idiot kid just walked away with a bloody nose. Transmission hub was up in the passenger compartment...

    L3940 gets stuck in snow

Sounds like chains are a must. Three feet of snow is a lot of weight. My tractor is the runt of the liter so moving deep snow can be interesting. It helps to angle the blade to the max and lift it up. Move a couple feet then back up and drop the blade and plow the same couple of feet. Takes...

    This Weather Event

ARRG. Wet heavy snow but not much. Some rain at or above freezing. Watched snow , pebbles, and mud curl off the plow blade. Good excuse to get a bigger leaf blower this spring.

To 4WD or Not To 4WD

The old man graded and back bladed his gravel driveway in 2WD because that is all he had. I use my little front plow blade to back blade my gravel/dirt in 4WD because that is what I have and it works . I mow my hill in 4WD as it is close to 30 degrees and 2WD has a real problem with that.

    Credit Rating Nonsense

I am the most financially secure that I have ever been and my credit rating is at it's lowest. I had a higher rating when I was way over my head in debt.

    Any former Hippies here?

And how often did you see a picture of a company CEO doing a line of coke ? Chances are you have been dealing with ex-hippies all of your life and just never knew it. Some of us became engineers, plumbers, farmers and look like normal people. I am still more hippie than conservative. Food for...

    Do you trust people?

My handshake is my word and I expect the same from most others. My suburban friends say I am too trusting. Property is posted and the drive way has a LARGE no soliciting sign. The keys are left in the truck far to often according to the wife. Come up the drive to the front door and you will be...

    Any former Hippies here?

I spent most of my career as an Industrial Environmentalist. Cleaning up the mess the previous generation left in our groundwater. Protested to save the world and then went out to actually do the work. Raised a family of CPAs and MBAs. My house and cars are all paid off, the Kubota is...

    Dumping landline phone service?

We still have landline. On a good day we can get 1 bar of cell service in the yard. Put leaves on the trees and it is 0 bars. Just got high speed internet last year but they do not offer phone yet. We are the house that the truckers walk to when they get stuck on the hill in the ice/snow ! I...
