Some jobs have more risk than others

Young, fearless and invincible on the nozzle inside a burning mobile home protecting the search team. All made it out ! Family was lucky that the FD was doing weekly check out and the rigs were all on the apron with full crews. On the road before the siren stopped.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Direct water to death numbers are vague and very hard to find. Industrial chemicals in ground water and cancer groups are well known but not well documented. Cover up and great lawyers. I find your EPA guy saying results in low parts per million to laughable. When I left the groundwater...

Lowes fires employee who had been with them for 13 years for trying to prevent shoplifting

So you support and encourage looting and theft. I know you were trying to be funny. The Lowe's policy is to let police deal with the criminals and protect the employee. There are plenty of cameras including plate readers in the parking lots (some stores). The employee did not follow the terms...

    Dark oil

I swear I could do an oil change and then drain without running the engine and the oil would be coal black. Life with a diesel.

Military Veterans Thread and other 1 Delta 10 Tango stuff.

Thank you. I will continue to support https://vva.org/what-we-do/outreach-programs/homeless-veterans/ When I talk with the SIL, I fear the DoD and general public simply do not give a shi*.

    Daily Chuckle

LMAO ! We have had this discussion many times in our household. The wife with the cross team on one side and me on the pentagram team on the other side.

    Moving trashed logs

Whether it is right or wrong I have been doing this for years. I lift the 3 pt just enough so the log does not dig in.

    Torque Wrenches

IMHO: You get what you pay for. For my basic home owner use I have an old beam type. It is close enough for the work I do. If I am paying the shop price of over a 100 bucks an hour I expect them to have far higher quality tools with tighter tolerances. That being said , a really nice set of...

    What's cookin' boys?

Opps. Just an oval plate on a counter top. Handy for small meals.

    What's cookin' boys?

It is not a common sausage. barley, buck wheat, pork snouts, liver and kidneys. Modern version has beef blood. Old school has pork blood. The casing is as black as night. When split open the filling is a black mix of ingredients. A rather strong taste.

    What's cookin' boys?

Perhaps just a pauper's meal but brings back so many memories of childhood. Kishka (Kyshka) - blood sausage. Did not get it often but, man, did I love this. I bought 2. One for mom and she was delighted, The other will be two meals for me. Packed with carbs and calories but worth every fork...

    Tractor washing.

Just my opinion. My tractor is a tool and I treat it as such. Every now and then I will wash it with a car wash. I keep the zerks clean and remove gross dirt from becoming a problem. Basic cleaning has kept the tractor operating for close to 35 years. Yes, the paint is dull and heavy use...

    Thought for today

LMAO ! I love it. Nothing like a slow ride or a hot dog on a string. Having a girlfriend or wife stand on the pegs while barely moving is a mix of balance and true love. Sometimes , a serious amount of alcohol !

    Canadian Wildfires

You are not going to win the argument. Best to rub your neck, shake your head and walk away. IMHO, it is part weather, part climate change, part management and part natural regeneration. I have been at brush fires, interior structural fires and small woods fires. I hated woodland fires. Way...

    What's cookin' boys?

On a serious diet and every calorie is counted. This entire pan is under 300 calories and for me it is one serving. A couple of grilled hot Italian sausage cut up and simmered with white onion, green peppers and a couple sliced radishes.

    Here we go....

Rumor has it that I was at that dump many decades ago. I seem to remember that the rules changed after a few drunks found out that it is not safe to tease a bear. I went out one night to chase a racoon from our camp (Horicon area) garbage can and turned the corner to find a bear having a...

    If you don't feel protected...

A-10's used to come over the hunting camp by Fort Drum. Tree top level doing close ground support. I would hate to be on the wrong side of that gatling gun.

    Brick Chimney Teardown and Replacement.

I had to have the top 24 courses of my double chimney replaced. yeah, it ain't cheap. I was doing major home upgrades and I do not recall the cost. Money flowed like cheap wine that year as I wanted to retire without house worries. Northeast Chimney in Selkirk NY does excellent work. They only...

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY. What was your favorite car?

Not a picture of mine so add a bunch of rust, a light bar, and a bunch of empties on the floor. manual hubs and a 3 speed, Firestone retreads, 8 track on the floor and a CB bolted under the dash. A crappy car but, my wife to be and I had a blast and fell in love in this little beast. It is...

    Fathers Day

Had a great fathers day. A backyard at the daughter's house filled with grand kids. Four of mine and the rest from the SIL family. A good time. edited by Mike.
