No pic. If I fry some cod in bacon grease can I claim to be sticking to my diet?
Damn, it was tasty !

OK guys I need some help please. Not long ago Lil Bro found most of Moms cast iron, and since Im the only that fools with it he dropped it off. I went and re seasoned all the skillets and dutch over and they all work like they are suppose to. Now for what ever reason, I wanted some corn bread and pulled out the corn bread molds. One of course in the shape of ears of corn and the other little triangles. Mixed up Moms corn bread fired up the oven to 400 and here we go. They smelled wonderful, untill I tried to get them out of the pans! I greased the pans first , but I must have missed something cause mom would just flip them over and out they came, and the pans were ready for the next batch. All I have is mostly crumbled corn bread, though it tastes good I just wanted the shapes for some reason,,, Sooo any ideas what I missed ???

My wife used to use a little grease (lard) and then a fine coating of corn meal. No real idea how she did her magic in the kitchen.

Get them hot on the stovetop and add some oil. Pam is OK. Wipe it out with a paper towel. Do that several times. Add a little oil/Pam and sprinkle some dry cornmeal in the hot skillet before adding the cornbread mixture. Don't cook anything but cornbread in your cornbread skillet.

Not quite 170 here this morning. Foiled it up and put her back on to go to 190. Should be there around 9:30 or 10. Rest for an hour and it’s pulled pork for lunch!

Be forewarned. If you show up and the smoker is going, you will be expected to eat

Tonight is Fun Food Saturday fireside. Snack food stuff tonight.

Got the chicken food group covered with tenders and wings.

Tenders get shallow fried in olive oil. Wings finish in air fryer with some of our genuine Redneck Chef & Son Wing Sauce…..

Add to that spare ribs, zucchini fritters and some egg rolls (store bought).

I do a rub on it. Took one off a cooking site and modified it over the years to fit my taste. Now I do not inject or baste shoulders. Put a rub on my ribs as well. I’ve got a rub for ribs, pork shoulders, beef and poultry. I do mostly fresh herbs for goat and lamb.

OK. The shoulder is pulled, the smoker heated back up and the ribs on. Got a late start so they will not be done until 9. May be lunch tomorrow.
