    Any Kayaker for opinion

Greensville, That fact has already drilled into the kid. She has fished (actually tanned while I fished) from my old canoe and kayaked with a cousin's kayak. Like seat belts, she grew up with it and it just second nature to put on a vest. When she was just a wee little one I showed her the...

    Any Kayaker for opinion

My live in grand daughter is 17 and wants kayak for the local lake. She has used a rented one and liked it. Is a starter kayak from Wall-mark or Sam's club good enough to start ? Or should I go to a sporting good store and spend closer to 600 bucks ? The $1000 and up are out of the question. I'd...

So we also starve the military, police, fire, air traffic control, highway workers, ambulance crews, etc. Sorry, I meandered off topic again.

The loggers in the Amazon also claimed unlimited wood and we can see how that is turning out. Many towns now regulate wood furnaces as the low burn with heavy soot was a real bother to the neighbors. When my BIL is heating and it is a high pressure day my MIL house ( 1 property over) stinks...

Generation Z - Life is not fair

Just had a long chat with our Gen Z'er. All started with the statement that, " Life is so unfair". Gramps put down the morning coffee, pulled back the ponytail, took a deep breath, and started the insight. Went like this. Life is incredibly fair! YOU have the ability to make decisions how how...

No doubt MASH will be removed from public viewing due to Kilinger in drag and the underlying politics. Catch 22 is most likely on a book ban somewhere.

Fiddle farting around on the farm.

So 99% of farmers are NOT vets ! Kind of shocked to hear that number is so low. But then again the draft ended a long log time ago.

    Daily Chuckle

Two of my adult children share my warped sense of humor. We just put my wife's ashes in the ground yesterday. One kid is here and just groaned and I am e-mailing the other one right now. Shines a little light on a dark moment. Wife would have chuckled and then called me crass ! Thanks for the...

    Laser Pointer Buying Advice.

You already did the best thing. Keep doors locked, call 911. Open upstairs window and advise the person to leave. A small laser could be mistaken for a lethal weapon and the trespasser may feel they are in mortal danger and take quicker action. Stand your ground works both ways.

    Today and Tomorrow's Work Force

Trail workers are like snowmobile trail groomers. I find most are of a driven breed and dedicated to their art. As to their work ethic off the trail, that can really vary.

looking for well pump advice. Updated!!!!!

Short answer is call a well company. Long answer is call a well company and get out your checkbook. I have had a few well issues. The easy was a broken pipe due to a poor install. The worst was having to drill down another 200 feet and get a bigger pump $$$.

    Today and Tomorrow's Work Force

Chuckle here. Have a few kids that worked 'legal' jobs while in high school and then went on to BS/MBA and CPA's. They all put that 80K salary to shame. I will bet that yapping and texting for them is free. Ye ole family plan with unlimited voice and data via mom and dad.
