One hydraulic coupler from my snowblower.....

Yes the galling is what it was. I had to build some stainless mixing vats with stainless fittings and piping. used a lot of swageloc fittings and tubing so it could be disassembled without galling threads but if a fellow worker over torqued the swageloc you would have the same problem. One of...

    L series Backhoe worth getting?

While I could afford a mini ex, it would have to sit outside. It would be a magnet for all the wasps and yellow jackets in the summer and field mice in the winter. Plus the extra up keep of another motor and battery. I can back up to my BH77 and have it on with 2 hoses and 2 pins. It sits in the...

One hydraulic coupler from my snowblower.....

I agree as I use a good grade pipe dope, the brand name escapes me at the moment. I find the npt hose and connectors I used on the hydraulic system I added to my 8N over 5 years ago have no leaks at any of the connections yet. When I have changed a coupling etc, I don't have to mess with the...

Well I hope what you got coming overnight helps you out! Thanks for clarifying. Bill

One hydraulic coupler from my snowblower.....

Sorry I didn't catch you were working with a single point loader issue. I thought it was just a single coupling on one of several hoses you were working with that was giving you trouble

One hydraulic coupler from my snowblower.....

A standard 1/4 snowplow coupling replacing both sides of that connections should get you going untill you can get a new flat faced one. You can find a set of them locally like at TSC or auto supply They are NPT like you stated your flat face are. A male and female set around here is less than...

    I think I got scammed.....

Yeah I take in strays! Chanceywd was a German Shorthaired Pointer. I rescued him and he got named Chancey White Dog as he was liver and mostly white and Chancey because he got another chance. So I have the expirience and could do a rescue on something orange! Bill

    I think I got scammed.....

I agree with her, those were ones when offered to me I would take something different. But my favorite was the bell one. Bill

One hydraulic coupler from my snowblower.....

I just turn on the power to the 3rd function with out the engine running and cycle the switches. That seems to work with my Summit valve to relieve the pressure. I do it putting the grapple on or before disconnecting. But I don't have flat faced couplings. Bill

    BH77 Hydraulic Concerns

Hey Dan, the light bulb in my head just lit up with these last explanations. I remember years ago rebuilding the pump in my 8N and adjusting that with it's linkage. Then when I added my own front pump and loader valve to use with my plow I dealt with the that valve and the sleeve issue. So thank...

    BH77 Hydraulic Concerns

I think you are asking what I asked. While the explanations here make sense I still have don't quite get the 500 or so max number at the 3pt holding it and hitting end of stroke. Maybe it is internal design of the 3pt valve I am not aware of. I am OK with not getting it but glad to have read...

    L series Backhoe worth getting?

I found a ebay cylinder, Magister WTG 2X10 that worked good for dimension. The base end I plugged and then with it hooked to the thumb and tucked up tight I marked it for the hole which moved it about 7/16. Welded a 1" shaft collar to each side and milled a little off each side to center in...

    L series Backhoe worth getting?

I figure I paid for something in the backhoe attachment that gets more use than a lot of boats, snowmobiles, jet-skis or campers I see in a lot of yards. I own none of the above, only a couple kayaks and a canoe. When my wife wants to move a large plant in one of her gardens it is one scoop and...

    L series Backhoe worth getting?

Did you do your own hydraulics for the thumb ? I did mine on the BH77 late this summer. I haven't had time to use it too much but will when I cut my firewood this year. Between that and the grapple It should allow me to keep doing firewood a few more years with some arthritic shoulders I am...

    BH77 Hydraulic Concerns

That is where I guess my confusion was in the 3 pt, if there is anyway, if even by accident if the control lever was raised would that not put back pressure on the bh77 valve and cause damage such as was describe in the OP questions? I realize it wouldn't be loaded heavily. Bill

    BH77 Hydraulic Concerns

I guess what I am trying to understand is when my BH77 is on the 3pt is all the way up. If the adjustment of that limit on the back left is off by a few threads doesn't this pressurize the whole power beyond circuit and find relief with the FEL valve? I thought I had seen similar problems here...

    BH77 Hydraulic Concerns

Isn't the the 3 point hitch the last valve in the power beyond loop? Would lowering and raising this cause the same kind of problems with the backhoe valve if it were to be a problem when the backhoe is mounted. I thought the only difference between the FEL, 3rd function and the backhoe valves...
