Do you get a OL when the thermocouple is unplugged? that would indicate an open connection somewhere. If so maybe an intermittent connection in the end terminal or at the sensing end that opens when heated.

And if all the emergency vehicles responding were electric too? How a bout the plows if electric, if there is more snow than anticipated and not enough charge for them to do the route.

That is kinda how I use my tractor overall, I don't abuse it. I bought a grapple mostly for the handling of material, not rip and tear till failure. I expect it to be really handy for my own firewood I cut.
