    Breaking tire bead

I do not think the idea is without merit ie, not stupid at all. :) . I think if you take your time, and yes, I think of block of wood might be in order. I can say back in my off road racing days I would use a hi-lift farm type jack and the back bumper of my F250 with the wheel and tire laying...

    bucket hooks v2.1

I understand the concept and familiar with uni-strut and superstrut. Looks good and always neat to see someone think "out of the box" !

Dumb question, but I'm going to ask it anyway

Looks like better quality release handles on the unit with the square tubing cross brace also.

    First Chestnuts of the year

Thanks for the reply ! I envy the trees you have! 👍😀 i have read, (not sure if true or not or by what standards) but the American Chestnut blight was this countries greatest ecological disaster. Billions of chestnut trees lost in a short period of time. Roughly a 50 year period. The American...

    First Chestnuts of the year

The story of the American Chestnut is very interesting, worth reading up on. Are your chestnuts American or Chinese Chestnuts or one of the hybrids ? i planted some of the Chinese Chestnut seedlings here in Central Wisconsin but did not take the time or energy to deer proof them. The efforts...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

My new wildlife pond dig continues. I was able to get a couple hours in today. I figure I am about 25% completed. 6 hours total time so far. A small dozer would have had it completed in the six hours with spare change! :) I enjoy the process. This pond will be around 3500 square foot and will...

Photo shoot anything lately? Random Photo Thread

Caught this American Copper on Sky Blue Aster on my prairie habitat. Even though here in central Wisconsin is already showing signs of fall there is still plenty of color. Asters are an important late season nectar/pollen source.

    3-Point Control Lever Stop

implement-height-stop-thumbscrew-upgrade.29317 This is the route I went with and it works well. The factory knob was very difficult to loosen and tighten given the location etc especially with work gloves or wet hands.

    Bx2380 started on its own

I took a quick look at the operators manual online for a BX2380. It might be interesting for you to check the OPC features to make sure they are working. There is a procedure in the manual to check the seat, pto lever and speed control pedal. I realize that starting by itself was an anomaly...

    2010 Kubota 2800

I pulled this image from the web. With that being the case I am just guessing but I believe this to be a L2800 Gear drive. I pointed to what should be the PTO lever. Sorry, Fordtech86 beat me to it! :)

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Spent 4 hours yesterday, started out by box blading my drive into the land. Then was able to get a few hours starting my pond dig. This one is going to be a long project with the L2501 due to the size(larger pond, small tractor:ROFLMAO:). This pond is large enough that a small dozer would make...

L2501 Turbo: A Journey Defined - The tractor, The comparison, The modification, The results...

while I have not kept accurate records of operating time/fuel consumption with my HST L2501 I feel like I am burning 1/2 to 3/4 gallon per hour with brush hogging at the high end. I tend to not push the tractor hard and would not be surprised if I did I would be burning closer to 1 gallon per hour.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Spent the day with my son doing some grapple work, switching the grapple and rotary cutter to the bucket and box blade. We set elevation stakes and ribbons around the perimeter of the new pond dig to help me with elevations as I build up the dam. Real old school, string and line level! lol We...

    B5100 Parts

John, Did you try Messicks on the hood latches? They look the same as my late model B7100 (please verify yourself if you do order) and had to replace one a few years back and Messicks did have it in stock

    Little knowledge from b7100 mechanics

The nut and stud you mentioned , and the one I pointed to in yellow, is the one that is notoriously difficult to access and get a wrench on. Some great posts here on OTT detailing how to make the job easier. i think it bodes well you have not overheated the engine and that there is no mixing of...

    Little knowledge from b7100 mechanics

There is a gasket on the back side of the casting for the dynamo stator. As I am sure your aware that casting also serves the upper radiator hose. Perhaps loose bolts or a bad gasket. If you do end up removing to service the gasket it might be a great time to inspect and replace the dynamo...

1.33 acres, heavily wooded and overgrown... Need advice on a tractor purchase!

Lots of great feedback , suggestions, and observations here! I agree with you on the acreage determining what sized tractor you buy. Never could really get the connection. Of course there are limits, a hundred HP articulated tractor might be a tad overkill! :) I also do not get the 5 hp per...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Spent a couple hours yesterday mowing my trails, possibly for the last time this year, and mowing an area for a future wildlife pond dig. Having run the 6 foot Landpride cutter on the L2501 for a season now I can say I am extremely happy with how the tractor handles it. Plenty of cool season...
