    Field Borders?

If it was me I would leave the fescue twenty or thirty foot around the edge of the field and mow it with your rotary mower. I sure wouldn't put up a fence if you don't need one. We mow with a batwing mower around all our fields and have removed any fence that is not pasture fence. I get tired of...

    newbie fuel question

I won't talk brands as everyone has their's. Out on the farm we get bulk dyed #2 off road diesel. Not a lot of stations have off road diesel so you will probably just buy #2 road diesel at your favorite station and run it. I only run additives in the winter and cut my #2 with #1 50/50 for...

    Loader Level Indicator

I totally agreed with this. I have taken them off several loaders in the past and when I bought the MX-6000 a while back I didn't have one added to it. A little seat time and you will see where the bucket or forks are.

I found the perfect tractor, but it has 10,000 to 12,000 hours

As the saying goes there is no free lunch. Over the years I have had many framer friends buy high hour tractors trying to save a dollar. Most of the time it doesn't work out in the end to be a cheaper tractor. Had a buddy bring a 8000 series JD out of the south he now has more money in the...

    Just Purchased an L3901

Enjoy that new tractor. Glad you found a dealer that was good to work with.

Home made quick attach, or old and uncommon?

Its probably some kind of aftermarket quick hitch. Before the skid steer type quick hitch was common there were a fair amount of company's building quick hitch conversion's. I would just find the grapple you like buy one with no mounting from the factory and take it to a local black smith and...

    Just Purchased an L3901

I grew up at the same school. My folks had a couple business and when you told some one this is what going to happen and when and how much you made it happen. I just went threw a deal with a dealer where another salesmen sold a tractor I though I had bought. My salesman which also is the manager...

Looking for Used Sale Value on my L245DT

Tractor house is good. Check Craigslist and facebook for that model. If you google that model a lot of times auction results will come up and you can see what they are selling for. I just did this when I sold my Agco ST-25 that my Kubota MX-6000 replaced. Nice used tractors are selling well.

Modifying a utility trailer to improve the towing experience.

Nice work. That hitch will make a big difference. You might want to run some flags on the mower. Around my area DOT doesn't like any thing hanging out the back of pickups or off the end of trailers without a flag.

    LX2610 quotes from dealers

I just bought the MX-6000 less than a month ago.

    LX2610 quotes from dealers

Can't speak for the east to north east part of the country. I am the midwest. Spending a short half of a day on the phone and a short day in the pickup with trailer saved me north of four grand on a new MX-6000 with a loader. I guess the only time I paying list price for something is when I am...

    B2602 or Massey 1526

I can't speak on the size of tractor's you are looking out but I looked at the Kioti's and the dealer seemed good the tractor just concerned me. I looked at Massey since I was replacing a AGCO ST-25 that I had good luck with and the same company builds the Massey's today. Not a lot of dealers...

Trailer for BX2680 and brush hog transport.

I would bite the bullet and just cry once and buy one that is long enough you can haul the tractor FEL and bush hog at the same time. I never have cared for a tilt trailer. I would get one with beaver tail and 7,000 axles and brakes on both. Check your state but in mind you better have brakes...

FIMCO 40 gallon 3 point sprayer...

I have had two Fimco sprayers. The first one was a forty gallon pull type with a gas engine that I made into a three point sprayer used it for twelve years tractor gets 100- 200 hours a year on it spraying. Never had a problem with the tank. Three years ago I sold it and got a 60 gallon three...

Down the rabbit hole of comparing tractors that have a cab.

One thing you have to remember about both types of transmissions are at what speed you are going forward that is the speed you will be backing up. If you are mowing with a batwing at six mile an hour and flip the power reverser when it goes into reverse and the cycle is completed you will be...

Down the rabbit hole of comparing tractors that have a cab.

I do a lot of batwing mowing every year normally put around 200 hours on that tractor mowing. We like our farms looking nice. I mowed for years on a open tractor. Didn't want to use my good cab tractors for mowing. Then ten years ago I bought a JD 4440 with a cab and it lives on the batwing from...

Down the rabbit hole of comparing tractors that have a cab.

I looked at a two year old used MX-4800 with eighty hours on it. His price was close enough to what I paid for the new MX-6000 that I found that it made no sense to buy used. It took him a month or so to get his price but he did. I think you will have no problem selling your MX-6000 for closer...

    Buying my first Tractor

When I started my search to replace my AGCO ST-25 because I wanted one with a loader and it made no sense to put a loader on the AGCO. I looked hard at the L2501 can't see enough difference in the L3301 and L3901 to spend the money to get a DPF filter and a little more HP. I looked at the L4701...

    L series

When I was looking at tractors the only thing I didn't like about the L2501 was how you had to engage the PTO on it. I think it will do what your going to do with a tractor and save some money not have the DPF. I came close to buying one and it got sold then I looked at a L4701 and it got sold...

    Potential PTO Shaft Rotation Tool?

Thanks for posting this wrench. I buy a fair amount of parts for Sloan and I have never seen that wrench. On my big JD tractors 150-200 Hp I always have trouble hooking up the pto on the batwing mower. They have a hyd brake that hold the Pto. Even with the engine off and hyd bleed down it tough...
