    Stuck in the mud

Wife's are what I call Monday morning quarter backs. Always have the answers in the hind side. You talk about stuck, one of the worst I did was years ago we had just bought a farm and I was pushing trees and cleaning up the farm with a D7 Cat. I buried it, you could step off the platform on to...

    Weather Stations

A few months back a old guy that lives five miles west of me stopped by one morning while I was greasing the sprayer and had a gang off a six foot three point disk in the back of his pickup. One bearing was out and the other going out. He said he had taken it to several repair shops and no one...

Pros and cons to Kubota 0 turn mowers

On this farm all my big tractors are Green. I have the MX6000 and I really like it. I have owned a couple Green mowers and won't own any more. I am on my third Grasshopper Zero turn with Kubota engines in it and I really Grasshopper zero turns. My Bobcat skid loader has a Kubota engine in it. My...

I could really use this Buhler/Farm King 8ft hydraulic angle rear blade.

When I was kid I pushed a lot of snow at my folks business and the small town I lived in with a three point blade. IN my adult life I have owned two three point blades both were Rhino brand a 8Ft one and then a 1540 10 Ft with rear gauge wheel. Bought both used from guys that never used them and...

Moving yards and yards of material, a hay wagon?

I would go to craigslist or facebook market place and look for old farm barge wagons. In my area you can pickup a 7X14 or 8X14 wagon with hoist and sides for a grand or less. There are many of them with steel sides and floors that would work perfect for what your wanting to do.

Good Works Tractor Co. and their latest Quick Hitch

Proper fit on these quick hitches to implements can be important. Years ago I bought a JD 4840 that a guy had converted the quick hitch from cat 3 wide to cat 3 narrow. The tractor was set for 30 inch rows so the tires were in close to the cab. He had a rear three point blade on the tractor...

Wood stoves......My favorite part of having a "cottage"......

I heated with two wood stoves actual three one in the shop for twenty years and loved the wood heat. In 2003 we remodeled this three story farm house and moved in. In 2005 installed a Garn wood boiler in the pole barn to heat the shop and house and domestic water. Burned between 10-15 cord of...

    B9200 broken trans case

If it were me I either order the new one from Jones or get the used one from Mountain Man. I wouldn't try to patch the broken one. Just split it and get the work done. It won't be to bad of a job. On this farm patching never seems to work out. And when done make the needed adjustments on the...

    Quick Hitch? 👍 or 👎

I like quick hitches to a point. My MX6000 won't ever have a quick hitch on it as the three main implements that are used on it aren't set up for quick hitch and I am not going to refab them. I start out in the spring with the carryall on and then the sprayer goes on until fall harvest is over...

    1970's 2wd John Deere 1530 Pricing help

My advice to look more at online resources Machinery Pete, Tractor House, Auction Time, Big Iron, Craigslist, Facebook Market place. You are going to have to judge the condition of the tractor and equipment. Condition of a 50 year old plus or minus tractor can vary a lot. Tractor doesn't sound...

    The sheriff called me.....

The last time the sheriff called me was a couple years ago and a very young man had ran off the gravel road into my corn field. Lucky for the young man the corn kept him from rolling his pickup. Totaled out a nice pickup. Took almost a year to get it settled with the insurance company.

    Keeping implements under cover

Nothing sets outside at my farm. I have been out spraying this AM came in the house to make a few calls , check some email and grab some lunch before I head out to another farm fifteen miles away to do some spot spraying and the MX6000 went back in the shed. Plenty of room in the shed so no...

    3pt PTO forestery mulchers

The old Brown cutter. I had one thirty years ago and it was pretty worn out when I bought it. Ran it on a old JD 620 two cylinder. Took down a lot of cedar trees and plum brush with it. Had to rebuild the PTO clutch on the old 620 twice. Those cutters are hard on tractors. Sold the tractor and...

The definition of insanity with a Del Morino flail ...

Nice set of hammers. I would throw that set up away and make one that used chains like on most of the heavier flex wing mowers have. Even the mowers that have the belting guard don't last and get tore up. I try to keep the trash pickup out of my road ditches but no matter how careful I am...

Best place to buy accessories for a Kubota RTV 1100C

Just a update. Only idea I found in the aftermarket I like better than Kubota was a set of side mirrors. I bought them off Ebay and they were Kemimoto mirrors. I really like them. I added a front and rear mud guard kit, LED strobe light kit, turn signal / hazard kit and a block heater that I...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Thanks for the reply. I am almost to fifteen years on the Garn and this is the third leak. First leak was at just under nine years. All have been from bad welds from the factory. Getting ready to cut a hole in the side of the 2000 gallon storage tank to look for this leak.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

If you don't mind me asking what brand of wood boiler are your running and are you running storage with the boiler. I have a Garn that just started leaking again yesterday. Might be time to look at a different brand.

Are the diesel rtvs really that slow?

Mine does have the hand throttle on it. The only thing I have used it for is to idle it up a couple of times when I had it parked with the AC running. I think there are some adjustments that can be made to get a little more speed. I just don't need any more speed. In my area you will have less...

Are the diesel rtvs really that slow?

I bought a new RTV X 1000C back in April. Finally have had time to use it some. Got a little over hundred miles on it now. If your looking for break fast speed keep looking. I like mine a lot. AC has been nice in this hot weather. It runs 25 MPH on the flat with the AC on and will pull down to...
