Looking @ these 2 machines, any suggestions? One thing, I cant find any reference to a backhoe (even from dealer) on the 1526. Looked @ Kioti CK2510, but it still only has 2 range gear box, & lack of real dealers (long term ones, anyway) near me

I can't speak on the size of tractor's you are looking out but I looked at the Kioti's and the dealer seemed good the tractor just concerned me. I looked at Massey since I was replacing a AGCO ST-25 that I had good luck with and the same company builds the Massey's today. Not a lot of dealers around and or tractors to look at. I ended up buying Kubota and did up size more than I had planned and bought a MX 6000 HST with FEL and so far love the tractor.

Dealer nearby was the deciding factor for me.

Can't go wrong either one. Both very good, well built, reliable machines. I don't think the 1526 has a factory backhoe option? But there may be a Woods one for it? MF has an implement deal with Woods.

I love how the Massey's hydro pedals control engine RPM. But I wasn't crazy for the loader joystick mounted on the loader stanchion. And the ROPS bar is huge and bent forward. And it doesn't have steering brakes, only a single brake pedal.

For me the choice between those two would come down to dealer, but the Kubota is a bit more "deluxe" with more available options.

My sister in law has a Massey, I didn't like it as compared to the Kubota, it didn't feel as nice to drive. I think I recall that the smaller Massey tractors are contract manufactured for them - so check what brand they are underneath. It might be an Iseki?

Neil from Messicks (by no means an unbiased source) has things to say about badge engineered tractors - neither the brand (Massey) nor the manufacturer (Iseki?) have much incentive to keep good inventory of spares. If it's literally just an Iseki with a Massey label on it, that's actually better because Iseki will keep the parts for their own machines. But if it's an Iseki with a bunch of differences, then those different parts may become hard to source over time. Neil makes a point of the parts availability for quite old Kubota tractors - Kubota has a strong incentive to keep those parts around.

Iseki has been making Massey's scut's and cut's for a long time. No problem with parts. Massey (Agco) is as good at supporting their stuff as the other big players.

Me, I love my Kubota products, but Massey is good too. Go try them out and see what you are comfortable on, then pick the dealer that will treat you best.

I had a MF 1528. It was a good tractor until it got about 1700 hours on it. Then I had some major issues.

#1 was the front axle broke off of the frame. The front axle was mounted onto a 1.5 inch strap that ran from one side of the frame to the other. It broke the weld when I was mowing a pasture field and dropped into a bull hole.

#2 the shaft that supplied the power to the PTO broke inside the transmission.

#3 as I was box blading to gather up the materials that where being dragged out of a pond the rear axle housing broke.
