I know this might be a long shot, but here we go. As stated, I recently got thrown to a L2850 and have been using it for several months now. Before the previous owner left us, he was hauling the tractor on a trailer when the side panel was lost. After back tracking his route, he never did locate it.

It has been missing for several years and I just thought it would be nice for my wife and her family if I could locate another, without having to take a loan out to buy it. Any leads on used parts like this is appreciated!

I would try to go to Kubota.com, look up the illustrated parts list for the L2850 and find the side panel you are looking for. Write down the part number, then go to Messick's (parts) and look up the part number to see how much a new one would run.

I was surprised by how reasonable the bonnet (~$700) and fenders (~$250 each) for my tractor were. Not cheap but not outrageous. I didn't need them really so didn't buy but I would not have to rob a bank to purchase those parts.

If you need the parts you can order them from any Kubota dealer and (maybe?) save the freight.

Regarding freight or shipping charges...

Dealer will cheerfully order anything you desire overnight and charge appropriately.

Unless in a real bind tell dealer to bring in the desired part on their regular weekly restock pallet-load truck shipment. My invoice normally says zero shipping and occasionally for bigger stuff the parts guy tells me they'll pro-rate the total freight charge by weight. The little stuff gets a free ride and the big stuff is paid. Had an air cleaner tube assembly show a freight charge of $1.00. Hard to beat that kind of deal.

I was not real sure how the dealer would handle it. I have always just ordered small lightweight parts and told them to get them when they could and save as much freight as possible since most of what I needed was not pressing to have (so far!).

I had ordered the ROPS and there was shipping on that but I was not sure if that was trying to recoup cost on the ROPS or not. I had no idea how the dealer handled other larger/heavier parts.

Thanks for the info.
