Those little fimco pumps dont take much amperage. The factory harness that comes with them has an inline switch, and it isnt much. Probably half as sturdy as that ws switch in your Kubota. I wouldnt hesitate to do as you are thinking, hook it to the factory ws wiring.
Its my understanding that most card numbers, security code and info gets hacked when the thieves gain access to the businesses (that you pay via that card) records. If thats true, even though your card never leaves the house, its still at risk.
On your last pictures, is the 1/4” play in the u joint knuckle? Or in the splined shaft? If the u joint, simply get a new one and change it. If its the splined shaft, theres a bearing out, likely right behind that seal you see around the shaft. You likely will have to disassemble that gearbox...
Many years ago I switched companies to save a substantial amount, and the next year the premium jumped to more than the original company’s rate.
I went in and spoke with the owner/agent of the new company how this could be.

Does their recomendation for a new engine mean that it was damaged due to ether use? Or is that a case of a low quality/reputation/knowledge dealership?
I generally avoid auctions, both online and onsite. Every time I have ever seen something I wanted, and actually put the time and effort into the bidding, it went for new price. Not a lot of sense in that. And furthermore, auctions can be a great way to buy stuff you never knew you needed or...
If as you say, that the filter and fuel being changed made it run well for a couple hours, Id think theres crud or debris in your fuel line from the tank to the filter.
