2006 M6040 PTO Gasket keeps backing out

I joined this conversation and shared past experience that might explain reason seal won't stay in place but I'm always open to learning to. People don't all march to the same drummer so IMO it's important to understand and allow for various mindsets and reasoning while exchanging ideas. I...

Thanks Wolf, it hasn't become a dealbreaker for me either but could be looming.

    Oodles and gobs of pictures

I haven't noticed an OTT rule limiting quantity and/or size of pictures per post but since the rule is common for other forums, I thought I'd ask. Copious numbers of large pictures burn data allocation for members using mobile devices. I pay extra to accommodate pictures of family and...

    Engine warning indicator

Rather than asking us to wag at it, do a little troubleshooting to narrow it down, report results then ask questions. Start by "hot wiring/jump power" fuel pump then attempt to start.

2006 M6040 PTO Gasket keeps backing out

Pressure build up as Wolf mentioned would be the first thing to check. Another suspect is pto shaft between tractor and cutter binding instead of smoothly collapsing and extending as cutter oscillates up and down going over humps and bumps. As you can imagine that would yank tractor shaft...

Fixing hole in side of block

Before putting it away, you might want to consider hitting crank journals with that sharp chisel used to hit bearing recess in crank. Joe's escapade just might cause folks to replace the moniker "school of hard knocks" with "school of hard hits".

    Why?

Because you were "snake bit" and since the snake died you couldn't even do that right.

Fixing hole in side of block

There might not be enough excess grease on those parts to lubricate clutch disc so save a handful to "hit the clutch plate with" before buttoning up.:unsure::ROFLMAO::cautious:😂🤪

Fixing hole in side of block

:rolleyes: I'll be paying closer attention now that flying monkey wrenches showed up and I can't use any more knots on my head.

Couple of those crank journals look like they might need to be hit with angle grinder.

You may as well offer a decathlon athlete on his morning workout a ride. Golfers don't hit balls because they are mad at them and Joe isn't hitting this motor because it's the most practical option.

Fixing hole in side of block

I was never able to dance so when my daughter became engaged to be married I wanted to learn in preparation for father-daughter dance at wedding. I began teaching myself by dancing (or called it dancing) with the broom,a mop,my dog and a dining chair. I kept stepping on my own toes and my...

    Key Stop Timer

Well it's a quick and no cost wag. Possibly irrelevant anyhow if he's confused a flasher with a solenoid/relay.
