I have owned this tractor almost 2 years (bought new) and have about 60 hours on the meter. I have gone through all the BS with the diesel particulate filter (DPF) recalls and the tractor going back to the dealer for weeks at a time to get the new updates.
Now when I go to start the tractor (hasn't been started in a few days), it takes about a half a dozen tries before it starts with some coughing and then it smoothens out and runs OK.
Dealer does not know what to do other than come and pick it up again and see what the computer and Kubota tell him to do. The tractor was at the dealers a few weeks ago for some updates.
I've owned tractors all my life (I'm retired) this is my first Kubota. Was hoping someone on this site would have some advice on what could be causing this tractor to not fire up on the first try?

Kubota builds excellent machines... This is not one of them! I would elaborate further with my true opinion, but I will stop right there.

Hey johnstone I also have the B3350 and it has been in the shop more than at my residence here in ohio. Try holding the key on longer at the glow plug setting. if that doesn't work ship it back to the dealer and check into the lemon law because thats what I gonna do.

Hey Shredhawk, thanks for the comeback.....I have tried keeping the glow plugs on a little longer than the book says to but does not seem to matter. maybe the glow plugs are not working...I wonder if there is an easy way to check them? Did you look into the lemon law? What's involved? I didn't want to go that route, but I guess it's an option I should consider.

Someone if I recall correctly was able to trade their B3350 for another model with the cooperation of their dealer after many failed fixes. A B2650 or an L2501 has no dpf. The bigger Ls seem to have fewer problems. That approach might be worth a try.

Was not trying to mislead you here! But I work for a dealer and fear that some one is watching. PM me if want to hear my opinion?

Pat
I dont know what there is to be fearful of if you are telling the truth. If a dealer is intentionally non-supportive of a truly faulty product the public needs to know.

A few sentences outlining a machine's particular drawbacks shouldnt hurt your position or career.

Mind you, that all depends on the employer. Who in turn should be supporting customers warranty issues.

My 3350 bombed. After failed attempts at fixing it, with several months of problems, they agreed to trade it in and I chose the 2650. It was picked up on Feb 19th and I'm still waiting. Very disappointing situation. Ask for your service representative to get involved.

True not all 3350's have issues. I met a local who has no problems with his. I think there a like 4 different builds. Difficult to get specifics from kubota.

The 3350 they took back is up for sale. Some other sucker will get it. For shame.
