Need a bridge over a creek

Where I live, we claim to be the limestone capital of the world and with that, we have active and inactive limestone quarries practically everywhere. As a kid, that's where we all hung out during the summers. You would walk up to a popular one on a hot summer day and there would be 50 to 100...

Need a bridge over a creek

We have one like this close by me except it's made with metal. As a teen, I got caught in the middle when a train came. Scared the crap outta us guys as we ran for the end just like on the movie Stand By Me. We also have a very long train tunnel that I got caught in when a train came and had to...

Need thoughts on "drying out" my land.

Weeping willow trees will absorb a tremendous amount of ground water. My sister had a spot in her field that was always wet and you would get stuck if you ever attempted to drive anything back there. She planted one weeping willow and in no time, her wet ground issue was no more...

Whats the go to grapple now that EA is out of business?

That was my thinking as well. They appear to be well built and not too much weight. Just got the email this morning that it’s been scheduled for build and should ship the week of 5/24/24. Now Ive gotta wait and I’m not very patient lol

Whats the go to grapple now that EA is out of business?

Well, I just now pulled the trigger on a Homestead Implements 55" root grapple. Hopefully it doesn't take months to arrive....

Picked up a trailer this weekend

They definitely seem better built than most of what I looked at. And this 20 year old one seemed better built than a new one of the same brand.

Picked up a trailer this weekend

The guys best friend owns a trailer business and they put all new springs, axles, brakes, wheels, and tires on the trailer. The seller was an 80 year old local retired police officer, and just a good old farmer. I trust him and the trailer is in excellent condition. No worries on my part....

Picked up a trailer this weekend

Thanks! I use to be a regional manager of a very large national aggregate company and one of their quarries is just down the road from me. They have some nice truck scales that I had installed 10 years ago. I plan to run over there and have them weigh the trailer and truck as a combo unit.

Picked up a trailer this weekend

I haven't weighed it yet so not sure on weight. So I looked at a LOT of trailers over the last week from many different brands. I paid pretty much what I could have bought a new 20' 7,000# trailer for minus taxes. But I really didn't feel that a 7K pound trailer was heavy enough to pull my 2502...

    L3901DT Hydraulics Not Working

Very informative thread that I enjoyed reading. We certainly have some knowledgeable fellers here! I'm due for my first fluid change as well and now want to check this hydraulic screen out....

Picked up a trailer this weekend

So I needed a trailer to haul my 2502 around on. I purchased a used PJ 20' dovetail with 5200# axles. Kinda curious any interesting ways you all have found to make $ off your trailer?

I did a big job last week with the 2502

I am definitely taking my time and doing it right. Also using a laser level to level it perfectly. Certainly don't want to sink this amount of time/effort/money into this and have it not be perfectly level and people laugh at my work... Not to mention, I am planning to offer this as one...

I did a big job last week with the 2502

The misses wanted a pool so I decided to do it myself. Of course she wanted the largest above pool she could find which required a lot of excavating to bury it part ways in the ground. I started off using my tiller to till up the top layer and scoop it off with the bucket. After that, I used the...

    New Purchase

The reason I had suggested the Grand L was simply because of the HST Plus transmission that comes in those. It is a MUCH better transmission than what comes in the standard L series. We don't know what your intentions are for this tractor so it's hard to give any advice. But if you are not...

    New Purchase

I would look at the Grand L as well. When I was looking in the fall, I priced a Grand L 3560 and 4060 and the 3560 was cheaper than the 4701. The grand L is a much nicer tractor than the 4701. But if you really need that extra HP....
