My new L2250Dt smoking from engine oil filler & overflow

Wolfman is correct. You have a tired engine. Depending on the condition of the sleeves you can generally bore these out to the next oversize. Then install oversized pistons. Save the cost of the sleeve replacement. Then the only major thing you would have to have done by a machine shop is the...

    Kubota l285 injection pump timing

Injection pump timing is accomplished with the shims under the injection pump. If you're just moving the injection pump for repair in most cases just reinstall the injection pump with the same shims. If you want to verify timing you use the flywheel marks and spill time the injection pump. That...

Lots of Noise Front of Engine No pressue to bucket

The easy thing to do is hook it up to run off the tractor hydraulics. It will be a little slower but it'll work just fine. You will need an adapter block and a couple hoses.

How do I know if I damaged the transmission?

Drain the transmission/hydraulic system and have a look at the filter. This will tell the story. These tractors are tough.

Timing Fuel Injection Pump 2010 L3940

I am with Wolfman. This is so sad. I just fixed a L S tractor that uses the same type of injection pump as the Kubota. The lady ran it out of fuel. Service guy came to get it started. Two weeks later and a $1000. 00 he walked away. He got it started but now has no power. Complete service, all...

    D950 timing marks?

Timing marks look correct. The oring on the crankshaft sleeve should be on the back of the sleeve not the front.

    Looking at a M4050 - Thoughts

The M4050 was a nice machine. It used a 6 cylinder true Kubota engine. Other then being flat wore out no reason to be using starting fluid. At this point I would say the engine is junk. This machine also had a problem with the bushing coming out of the spider gears in the rear end. All the early...

Starter part # for Kubota l245dt

The one Matt posted is a great replacement. It is the new type gear reduction. I have installed a lot of them. I would replace both battery cables if you have not done so. I use 2/0 cable and a group 24 battery and these tractors start great. Sometimes we add a starter relay to the system also .

    Fuel leak L355SS

You can get access to the top of the fuel tank to replace the fuel return hose. Remove the panel in front of the tank that the fuse block is bolted to. Good luck .

    L345DT Low Engine Oil Pressure

The oil pressure sending unit is located on the left side just above the starter. The thread size is 1/8 inch British pipe. You should have no problem finding an adapter at the auto parts store as this is what all Japanese cars use. As Russell stated the common problem with these tractors was...

frozen rust frozen nuts on front tire studs

Do all the things others have said with penetrating oil. One thing I would do before I started that is get a wire brush on a grinder or drill and remove the heavy rust from the tip of the stud. Done this many times and makes removal of the nut much easier. Glad you saved this tractor. Great machine.

    Dealer says I need motor

I would be extremely concerned about a dealer that use ether to try to start a tractor. As others have said you may not have needed a motor but you may need one now. It does not take but one time.

    M5950DT

Remove the round cover on the front of the engine. The gear on the front of the injection pump will need to be pulled of with a puller. The gear has two metric threaded holes. I use a small steering wheel puller. Loosen the large nut in the center of the gear and remove the flat washer behind...
