    What did you use to line up the clutch? I would certainly be sure the inside diameter of the pilot bearing is correct. When everything is correct these tractors push right together. If you are having to jump up and down on a strap you're going to do some damage.

    Gear Drive or hydrostat? If it's a Gear Drive be sure the shift lever is pushing the two micro switches on the left side by the fender. As others have said check to be sure the PTO is not engaged. Don't need to push the clutch in to start.

    Did you check the pilot bearing to be sure it was the right size and slid over the input shaft? Do you have the throwout bearing back all the way off? So that it is not touching the clutch when you're trying to push it together. If it is a half inch away the spines should be lined up.

    As Wolfman said you will want to check the compression. Typically if an engine gets hot enough to crack the head it will take the spring tension out of the piston rings.

    Here's a picture. Install the assembly with the packing nut lose. Then put a punch in the lower port into the hole in the side of the packing nut . Then tighten it. If you would like a copy of the page send me a PM with a email.

    You should be able to remove the panel in front of the fuel tank and get access to the top of the fuel tank to replace the fuel re6 hose. Check the front axle lube. You have 3 spots to check. Right left and center. Also check the drive line center support.

    As others have said check oil level be sure not over full. Most likely the vent is plugged and nothing wrong with the seals in the shift levers. Vent should be under the seat on the left side. Looks like a question mark.
