Wolfman, thanks for the advice.
My next-door neighbour's B7100HST has such a block, but my elderly B7100D does not, and I'm not keen to cut into that steel line to fit one – though I suppose it would be more convenient to be able to raise and lower the 3-point hitch and use the FEL without having switch between the two. One would also have to be careful to ensure that the controls included a pressure relief valve. By the way, what is the design pressure of the existing system?
The advice given in the Kubota manual is to return the oil to the transmission case via the existing filler hole, which appears to be 1/2" BSP (or possibly NPT – they're both 14TPI, but as the connection is not under pressure it doesn't really matter). I'm considering making some sort of tee arrangement so the filler can still be used as a filler without any dismantling being required. What's your intention with the return line?
FELs often have only single-acting lift rams, relying on gravity to lower the bucket again. Double-acting rams do give the advantage that one can use the weight of the tractor, not just the loader, to make the bucket dig in a bit if required. One thing that occurs to me is that with using the existing hydraulic system, single-acting lift rams would make the oil level in the transmission case go up and down rather more than would double-acting rams. With the latter some oil goes back into the case from the other side of the piston (though less than is drawn from the case, since the spear takes up some of the volume of its end of the cylinder). A pair of 50mm (2") cylinders with 300mm (12") strokes would take about 1.2 litres to fill, and the transmission holds 11.5 litres. Fatter cylinders or longer strokes could possibly be a problem if only single-acting?

I am not quite sure what part you guys are talking about with the connection to tap into the hydraulic line from the pump. All 3 of my B7100 tractors have a small rectangular plate that is held on with 4 bolts built into the high pressure line from the pump. To power the loader from that you need to remove the cover that has the internal passage for the oil and build one without the internal passage from 1/2" cold rolled steel. Use the original for the spacing of the 4 bolt holes. Then drill and tap for pipe threads for the auxiliary lines. It is very easy to make. It seals with 2 O-rings on the inside.

Mike,
There is the difference in the hook-up of the hydraulic system when using single stage and dual stage rams.
With dual stage rams you are powering them in both directions so there is no need for a separate return to the reservoir, it's done right through the valve.
Yes if you have an older B7100D model and not a newer HST model then the hook-up and pumps are different. On your model your going to need a front pump and a tank built into the frame.

You need a hydrualic tap block adapter
Part # 70070-00385 $73.26 U.S. price
Makes it real easy to run other equipment.

Wolfman, my tractor does not have a front PTO. I think the FEL will work OK running off the auxiliary hydraulic outlet under the seat.
I picked up the steel last week, and made a start on the frame yesterday.
How is yours coming on?

Mike,
I've ordered and had most of my parts delivered in the last couple weeks. I have 2 parts that I'm waiting on. I had to get a new torch handle and tips to gas weld the lines together.
I'm using 3/8 x .49 seamless steel lines, I wanted to do stainless, but my stainless welding skills are not up for that task.
I'm doing 3 sets of lines for the third function.
After much review and measuring I ended up ordering the diverter block that Big Kahuna posted, The original piping on the Kubota is an odd size and I didn't want to mess it up, and I may end up going back to the external pump concept if it's too slow for my liking anyways.
The only thing I'm waiting on is I don't know what size fittings come out of the block, (3/8, 1/2, #6 SAE, #8 SAE).
Does anyone know the size?
I'll pick up the last of the steel that I need tomorrow and then the fun begins!:D

Been going like a mad man for 4 days strait, the result working loader.
I followed advice and shortened up the length moving the bucket closer, and redid the angle of the arms from 45 to 60.
Just need the welds cleaned up and a coat of paint on it, oh and two more rear support bars just to make sure I won't teak anything.
I took it out for a spin and dug some serious holes in a quick hurry, moved 10 stumps to the burn pile, and shuffled some equipment around.
All in all it works great, I'm going to need to get bigger tires on the back and new tires on the front.
The only part that is a negative is that it steers like a slug now, but I expected that with all the weight on it, That's the next mod, hydraulic steering, no not power steering, true 100% hydraulic! I have 3/4 of the parts already here for it.

Few more pictures of the setup.
Oh and yes a ballast box is a must have, I got all the material here to make one up for it. Then next up to do is a spring tooth plow. I have a 3 bottom one now, but it's too light and a bit to narrow for what I need. the new one will be 7 teeth and a lot heavier, the frame will be 3/8 wall 3" square tubing.

Wow, nice job. That takes one hell of a fabricator, I wish I had your energy! Nice quick change multi-mount too.

Maybe I'll get some of my stuff done when it cools off a bit. Hopefully not too long from now. I just walked outside and it was chilly out, a cold front came through. Checked the thermometer, and it was 91* F at 11 PM. But that's better than a few weeks back where it didn't get down to double digits till after midnight...

Congrats on what appears to be a fine job. Looks like a really good range.

Oh, and where did you get your teeth? When I straighten my 2150 bucket, I want to add a toothed cutting edge. Without a tooth edge, the soil here might as well be concrete.

Nice work!! I like the steel hydraulic lines. How did you make such smooth bends and what did you use for the ends of the lines?

Nice job !!
I will expect a full report on that hydro steer mod ,my B8200 needs that BAD.lol
Now theres at least 2 of us useing the inside "case" pin spacing for the QA maybe soon that will be known as the narrow Kubota spacing.

I bought a 3/8 and 1/2 bender used off of EBay for $12, they worked perfectly, no kinks or ripples!
I bought the line and spud ends and tees off of, Hose and fittings .com
The cylinders are from Baileys
The rest of the fittings and hoses came from EBay.

Sean, where did you get these LED lights, and did you have to do any modification to get them to fit? I need to replace mine.
I got them off EBay, someone out of China. I just used a hole saw on a thin plate of steel (could use aluminum) inserted the lights, and bolted the plate into the hood, they work great.

Yeah, nice job on the loader.
Thanks!

Yea, it made a lot more since to me to use that spacing. The other was way to wide, and didn't help me at all.
I'm rounding up the steering shaft and mounting housing and should be able to get going on it shortly. It will be nice to have steering like the big boys!:D

Yep I used the same ones! They work great!:D

Did you drill the holes in the arms to lock them together?
I ended up welding stops on the back of the plates for mine to "lock up to".

:D
Could you post some pictures of the process of bending and fitting the ends of a steel line? I understand the concept but would like to see pictures of how someone does it correctly.

A very nice job, Wolfman! Congratulations.
I'm still at the sawing/drilling/grinding/welding/grinding again stage with mine.
I hope to get the construction finished in a week or so, then the painting begins.
Thanks for all the help, pics and so on. I'll post pics of mine when I get done.
Cheers,
Mike.

I drilled them for that but never had to use it,I bent them to easily clear each other too. I also added the stops on the outside of the curves of the handle.
I wanted to mount my pivots close to the plate like you did but the bottom plate that sticks out hit the lift boom on full dump. Looks like that may have been a issue for you also because in the one picture with your bucket somewhat dumped it looks like its awfull close .
