What time will should we be there for s’mores? That’s an interesting use of the word ‘little’ 😂…but then again what is a little fire? standing within 3-4 feet without melting watch band? It’s all relative I guess….compared to the smoke coming across Lake Erie from CND lately, that was little compared to what’s burning North of the border. 🥃
Yeah, the Canada fires are something else. The smoke haze can be seen as far as the Atlantic coast when the sun rises.

Been doing a little digging at the house with the tractor and a mini excavator.
Levelled between the tractor shed and the wood shed.
Levelled at the end of the garden. Lots of rocks to move. Some dirt.

Me and the big girl / pallet forks along with FIL cut up and palletized 3 racks of wood…2 moved up under the awning, and the other left to dry in the sun just out of the frame.

Just after I stopped for a beverage, I snapped the pic of Mr. Pileated when he came by for a visit and I managed an action shot with my phone.
Drowling over your shed......

I like that wagon too. Is it home built or one of those dumping mini country manufacturing ones?

Thanks and Good eye…it’s a Country Mfgn 2 ton wagon. It does have the capability to dump but I have not put a hydraulic cylinder on yet. I picked it up directly from from their shop...They are really good people. If I need some else they make right there I’ll buy from them again.

Cool. At 1st I wanted mini running gear for my garden tractors. I picked a a farm tuff mini running gear from fleet farm.

The name is complete opposite of what it is. Supposed to be a 1500lbs rating. At 170 I was bending the center.

I ended up using some gorilla carts for my project ideas.

I have a jd 1065 10 ton running gear for larger tasks.

Then had a 963 I bought for 100.00 and traded for my planter.

I'm looking atba mini wagon for behind the Kubota for tasks and or one for dedicated hayrides.

Those country wagons and spreaders really caught my eye.

Started to loosely assemble my garden hiller/row builder. I got the hitch from heavy hitch but had a local shop make the crossbar tube and got 6' of tubing from them as well. Freight from Heavy Hitch and duty was going to be more than what I spent on these parts. If I get home early enough tomorrow I'll give it a test run.

More work on the new parking area.
Used the subsoiler again to cut along the edge of the driveway so I can drop in a 4” perf pipe for drainage.
Swapped back to the grapple and BB to handle the cross ties and got the top wall complete. Probably a lighter day tomorrow cause the missus will be at the doctor. Probably sharpen my saw after just a few cuts on the ties.
Gotta rent a concrete saw and remove a section of driveway to run the drain pipe under. Just happens to be an expansion joint so hoping one cut will do. Gonna backfill with #47 and pour it back with a few sacks of quickrete. No wonder it’s cracked to hell and back. I don’t think it’s more than 3” thick anywhere. The 47 will let a little water go around the pipe for a while.

I set 10 ties with the grapple and only 1 had to be handled back on top. The one I have in the grapple in this photo is the only one I missed with.

Got one little runoff problem to solve. Thinking some of the fill removed will be used to push the runoff around the end farthest from the house. The orange bucket in the background is my water level. Built my deck with it, the slab for my shop, and countless little projects that required elevation info and control.

Anyone notice a problem? 😩 This was my day today!

  • Remove two 160lb wheel weights from the rear wheel of the M6060
  • Remove the wheel & tire that are filled with Rim Guard
  • Remove the center of the wheel
  • Flip the wheel around and install the center to the second widest setting (was second narrowest)
  • Reinstall the wheel
  • Reinstall the two wheel weights that were removed in the first step
  • Install a third wheel weight
  • Repeat the process on the other side
I just love spending a few hours doing something only to realize that I need to do it all again.

Spent a big chunk of the three day weekend building a playhouse for the kids. I still have to find a slide I like and finish up the roof/climbing wall. I'm not much of a framer but this has turned out much better than I expected. Turns out getting your 4 posts square goes a long way to making life easier :)

I had a 9" auger and after trying to dig out the remaining few inches to get to ~ 12" diameter in one of the holes, I decided it would be best to save my back. My wife went out to TSC to buy the 12" for me. The 12" weighs about as much as the 9". It seems things are made as cheaply as possible more and more.

I needed to replant sunflower seeds for September/October. The first planting didn't germinate or all the seeds washed. The other food plot, the sunflower plants are doing good.

Yep! It was a tough day for sure and I hope I never to have to do this again! I knew I had to move the tires to the other side of the tractor after changing the setting of the centers, but completely forgot about it in the stress and heat of the moment. I had removed the wheel weights and wheel on the left side when I realized the mistake. That's such a great feeling when you know you have to do it all again. I will add that we did a much better job of aligning the weights than the local Kubota dealership, and given the cost savings (around $500) it was worth doing myself.

I don't know what the wheel/tire weighs but there's 72 gallons of beet juice in each tire which is around 720lb, then there's the weight of the steel rim and the tire itself. 1000lb would probably be a reasonable estimate.

Even with the MX and pallet forks it was still a tough job due to the weight of the wheel/tire and the friction of the rubber on the pallet forks. It all worked out in the end though but I was beat last night. The wheel weights were the easy part, but I can assure you it wouldn't be much fun trying to position and bolt on 160lb wheel weights without something to help. Pallet forks work well for that.

Here's how the morning started with the wheels at the second narrowest setting and two wheel weights.

What a great weekend! On Saturday I went down to my neighbor's house and helped him process a pile of tree branches with my chipper ... four hands made the work go a lot faster. He helped me last week haul a large stump off my immediate neighbor's property ... for my stumpery garden, so I was happy to go down and return the favor. I used the BX's backhoe to loosen the brush pile and spread it out, and when we were done I used the FEL to scrape up some of the smaller debris and dump it.

On the way back home I stopped by another neighbor's house and graded out a small area that she had been trying to do by hand. I park my tractor at her house so I'm always happy to help out and keep her happy. Then I spent the rest of the weekend pulling stumps and moving rocks and firewood on my own property. Back in the city again for the week ... can't wait to get back up there.

This is the large stump we dragged off my neighbor's property (with permission). It took a truck and 2 hours...

Got a yard of crushed concrete from the local recycling place and spread it under the tool shed- lean too this morning. I wouldn't have wanted to move the 2400lbs with a shovel and wheelbarrow
