or wrong make
No. It's incorrectly optioned for what you wanted. All makes will throw a code if you remove seatbelts. Even my kids VW had an airbag light come on when I replaced the seat belt because it became hard to release.
My comment was somewhat sarcastic but true. I did a little digging. We have some SDs in our fleet that came without rear seats. They are the Super Cab and have no rear seat. In their place are utility boxes installed by the upfitter. You probably have to go through commercial sales to get the rear seat delete option.
For the key in ignition chime, you can probably use Forscan or pull the wire out. On the diesel forum someone found it is a blue / white tracer wire in the plug on the left side of the steering column. I'll see if I can find the post.

So if an "upfitter" can delete the rear seats and belts, i should be able to as well as the owner of the truck. This tells me its possble to do at the software level. Im the upfitter at this point.

Unsafe for a maine safety inspection because the airbag light is triggered due to no seatbelt being hooked up.

Now safe enough to get a maine safety inspection since it makes the airbag light go off.

Lol makes sense

You misunderstand. They came from Ford without the seats. The upfitter installed the storage.
Is it possible with a certain level of software? Yes. Is it possible with software available to the consumer? Maybe.
In case you haven't seen it yet, the Forscan forum has links to the hex spreadsheets for the SD trucks.

Curiosity .. Are you going to put a cage behind the seat to keep the cargo from the front ?

no its really for tools when i have a small job or its a job that i need to haul some tools but its raining out. I have a 28ft tool trailer that houses all my tools but some jobsites arent big enough or the job only requires a few tools in that case i can throw them in the back seat area. The seats in an extracab take up a bunch of space.

That's what my company car sounds like. I learned to hate it just as much as my SD chime 😂
FWIW, there is a company called Goose Gear that makes storage boxes for truck cabs. Might give them a ring and see what they/ their customers do. Since you want to buy their stuff they may fill you in. Wink wink, nod nod.

Thread hijacking is not cool. This thread is about a user disabling safety equipment.
motionclone is the OP and can’t be accused of hijacking his own thread (of which you missed the point anyway because it’s about how sorry Fords are.) :ROFLMAO:

As for the warning sounds/chimes: I drive my compactor/roller (construction equipment) in reverse more often than in forward and got tired of the backup-alarm… so I simply cut the ground-wire at the alarm.

Disabling the seat-belt audible-alarm on my Ram was a simple matter of turning the ignition On (without starting the engine) and connecting/disconnecting the seat belts 3 times, leaving them connected the last/3rd time….then turning the key switch OFF. Lets me drive around the ranch without having to fasten the seat bel….but still illuminates the dash seat-belt warning light.

However, many door-activated alarms in vehicles these-days no longer use a mechanical push-switch that can be taped so that may not be a valid solution.

MC's #43 post pictures are interesting !

seatbelt connector ISN'T yellow, even though it's NEEDED for 'airbag' system......there's goes the 'standard' that all 'airbag' related stuff has yellow molded connectors......

you could place the seatbelt down where that stash of coins are, then lay sheet of plywood down for a flat floor. the 'fun' would be drilling the holes in the right spots to use the seat studs to secure it ! Ribbed rubber matting keeps the toolboxes from 'dynamic relocations'

Im burning 1 quart of oil every 4000 miles in a 20k mile truck. Ford says thats acceptable up to 1 qt per 3000 miles. Its still under factory warranty
Burn it, leave the keys in it and walk away at the mall or the wrong side of town,, if its that bad get rid of it and cut your losses

Actually the plan was pretty close to that. I do want a flat floor and was thinking of hinged plywood at that high point where the studs are sticking out. That would leave a section under the plywood for small or flat things. The buckle shown is only 1 side. The other side the wire goes to the buckle similarly but its attached to a large retractor and seatbelt material and cant be seperated without cutting the belt. No yellow wires to any of this either.

Maybe if it was a quart every 2500 miles but then it would be covered under warranty

No, it's all about how somebody modified basic safety equipment and then started whining and blaming Ford and the dealer because it didn't work out the way he assumed it would.
