I feel like a dummy for not having some fuel on hand. The LX is full and I have about 3 gallons. I think by tomorrow evening I will have made some changes.

There is absolutely no need to panic hoard diesel fuel!

Aside from limited cable news coverage, I haven’t heard much about it.
Luckily, prices haven’t changed recently and panic hasn’t begun yet.

Did my normal fall fill up so I don’t have to worry about hitting the station when the snow is flying

Always panic and hoard until you learn.
During the TP shortage I was selling it. My wife had reoccurring sams club delivers for TP since about 2017. When the plandemic kicked off we had several case shoved in the guest bedroom, those cases had 4 big packs in them. Cases were $20 or $25, sold the packs for $20.
Same thing with the lumber shortage. Every time I would buy something bulky from lowes I would buy 2 or 3 2x4 to use as dunage they were usually $2 to $3. Had about 50 of them and sold them for $7 each to a builder when they were $9 at the store.
I wasn't planning on building anything for a while.
I think everyone should hord diesel, cause a shortage and it will be another screw up on the never ending list of screw ups under this administration.
Edit I was missing an r

The local Cumberland Farms store was out of diesel for the past 2 days. I bought my 5 gallons a few days ago, and will be topping off the genset with it and the rest will go into the Kubota.

Ya think?

The diesel market is in a perfect storm as prices surge, supply dwindles ahead of winter (msn.com)

Pipelines might have helped but not allowed to build such things here in the US.
Nonsense. There are 190,000 miles of fuel pipelines in the US lower 48:

Hence "might."

How many are being built today?

They are building another one five miles from where I live. Depends on your state government permitting process. And right of way access (the big issue).
