I feel similarly. REALLY glad I didn't get an MX as folks here often suggest. The 4701 is the perfect size for our open areas, mowing, and moving rocks, logs, brush, etc.
Because the additional 6.3" of length and 7.3" of width would have been a deal breaker for you? And in truth, the width is a non-starter because the rear wheels are adjustable for width. It makes no difference to me what folks decide to buy, and it's a good thing that you're happy with the L, but I really don't see how an MX would be a problem for someone who likes and has an L.
Given the extra 400lb or more of the MX over the L4701, the more capable loader, bigger engine, extra cylinder, and only 6" of additional length it'd be worth taking a good look at both if you're in the L/MX market.
