I wish I went with a smaller tractor ;)
You guys are weird. :p My progression has been BX > MX > M with zero regrets, other than wishing I'd bought a bigger tractor from day one!

My wife wouldn't allow me to do BX1880 she said no ... B2601 yes and she would pay for it. Get what I want for attachments and done. She watched GP outdoors using a B2601

Noticed the auger was not hanging straight and listing to the left. The locking nut had stopped locking! The previous batch of shallow holes were in some rocky ground for plants to control erosion. Must have knocked something loose.
Get out some tools and a level and adjust. Now it will dig a straight hole.

My wife looked a bit concerned with the price I paid. But after digging holes for flowers and birdboxes and grapevines and etc, no more questions.
Next year we work on justifications for more attachments. :sneaky:

I want a smaller tractor. A BX with a backhoe and MMM. Wife wants the BX with MMM for yard work and mowing. I want a little backhoe because I can get a backhoe on a BX for less than I can get one for my L4701 and once in a while it would be nice to have a backhoe. No regrets with the L4701, but it’s a wee bit big for routine mowing and routine yard work.

My wife said that she would pay half for a new tractor, so I bought a new BX23S, and she gave me half of the money for it. When I sold the old tractor, she asked for her half back. To add injury to the insult, I had to pay for all the new accessories for the tractor, so in the end, I should have kept the old one instead of selling it.

I feel similarly. REALLY glad I didn't get an MX as folks here often suggest. The 4701 is the perfect size for our open areas, mowing, and moving rocks, logs, brush, etc. But I wish I had a smaller tractor with backhoe for working close in to the workshop - doing some grading and water management, spreading a gravel border around the building, etc. Instead I've been doing it all by hand.

Because the additional 6.3" of length and 7.3" of width would have been a deal breaker for you? And in truth, the width is a non-starter because the rear wheels are adjustable for width. It makes no difference to me what folks decide to buy, and it's a good thing that you're happy with the L, but I really don't see how an MX would be a problem for someone who likes and has an L.

Given the extra 400lb or more of the MX over the L4701, the more capable loader, bigger engine, extra cylinder, and only 6" of additional length it'd be worth taking a good look at both if you're in the L/MX market.

I picked up the front suitcase weights this morning from the local FedEx freight depot. 1,020lb of fun. I'll need to modify the Kubota bracket to get all 10 installed on the M. The bracket will hold 8 at the most in its current form.

For sure. EA has them dropped shipped from North State Sales Co. in Greensboro, NC.

If you check out North State Sales' website, the first photo is of a "debadged" Kubota with some suitcase weights installed. :D It looks like an M60 of some type.

Nice plow, and challenge accepted! :D What's the story behind the plow you have there?
I don't have any info on the manufacturer. It was my grandfather's that I believe he bought new in 1949 when he got the tractor, a McCormick Deering W4. The w4 doesn't have a three point hitch so this is a tow behind plow. I have the W4 and I'd like to get the plow back to usable condition.

That's great! Moldboard plowing is a dying art it seems. I look forward to seeing your progress and the results from plowing.
