2001 BX2200 won't turn over... relay (re-)wiring question

Not the connector, but the black ribbed plastic piece that goes around the battery wire going to the starter.

Maybe these pics help if I understand you correctly...? From when I removed the starter for testing.

It is hard to tell, but it looks like the Black wire with a white stripe is across the plug from the green wire. Is that correct?

Don't change anything on the relay wiring yet.

I will go back and recheck but that was what I noticed when I first pulled it.

I'd really like to know where this white wire connects. I'll have you try something after you've confirmed where the green wire is on the plug coming off of the ignition switch.

That green wire at the ignition switch plug is your start wire. Make sure it is full seated into the plug.

Check that wire for 12 volts when the key is turned to start.

There you go! Your battery is low, so time to put a charger on it while figuring out the rest of the issues.

We now know that your ignition switch is good. The green wire leaves the ignition switch and goes through two safety switches, according to the wiring diagram you posted on the first page.

Is there a seat switch, PTO switch, or a clutch switch on your tractor?

- Brand New battery. Will trickle charge it at ~2a. Maybe from the testing and not running ie alternator not getting a chance to do its thing...

- that green wire as mentioned is suspect as it cimes out if the casing easily, unlike any if the others. I push it back in by feel when reconnecting that connector.

- Docs seem to say 2 only: PTO and neutral. I pushed in further and turned the key then contact and air spray cleaned them but didn't test them yet. My first suspicion but someone here said that if there is continuity to the alternator from the ignition that they are not the culprit? That said we are getting close and these were all my suspects from the beginning so with your help and expertise we are proving and narrowing...

Unfortunately no, I'm a motorcycle guy lol. I could go out and get one though. What size do you recommend?
