Ground some hard red and hard white wheat berries this morning. Threw them in the bread machine with a couple other ingredients and 2 1/2 hours later fresh whole wheat bread 😋.

Just add butter. Love that Zojirishi breadmaker and wonder mill.
Looks super.

You make your own flour?

How’s that work…. don’t have any experience with it and curious.

Yes we started last year. We found that store bought flour has some pretty nasty additives and processing to make it last in a bag. We switched to buying the cleaned organic wheat berries and several ancient grains along with corn from a local Amish packager www.senecagrainandbean.com . The berries before grinding will stay fresh for 25 years but once ground to flour it looses nutrition in a couple days if not kept in a freezer. I have 3 different grinders but the wonder mill works best for us. The Mockmill I have gets flour too hot causing poor yeast action and I also have a big vevor mill but thats overkill if you're not grinding 50 pounds at a time. The flavor is amazing and we blend in things like rye, Emmer, and spelt for flavor. I also have a grain crusher that allows us to make 7 grain cereal to add to the bread for a true fresh 7 grain loaf. Really been a lot of fun learning how to adjust recipes for fresh ground flour that acts different then the store junk with additives. We have also ground rice and oat flour to make gluten free recipes for our granddaughter that has Celiac disease. We had many failures in the beginning but they all were edible, just looked ugly. Sue Becker has some great books to get started and you will never go back to store flour once you taste what bread should taste like.

I spent a few days at the farm getting the roads & trails ready for our annual 4th trail ride & scavenger hunt and forgot to take working picture of the M4900 doing it's job but.....

Got a whole boneless pork loin for $1.99/#.

Quartered it and sealed.

Didn’t bring out big Weston Sealer, but will when 40# case of boneless skinless chicken breasts come in this week.

Got to make sure I can still smoke. Did a slab of ribs today. May need to smoke a second slab to make sure. Accompanied them with some beans, potatoes and home made bacon cooked all day in the slow cooker.

We got one of those Weston cubers and make pork cube steaks when we find loins on sale. We love pork.

Put up a 40# case of boneless skinless chicken breasts from local Amish grocery. $85 for the case.

Broke out the Weston Sealer for the task.

Seals a pack in about 10 seconds.
