No pics as I don’t think they’re appropriate for a public forum not focused on hunting. Met up with this year’s first whitetail buck this morning and delivered an invitation to dinner he couldn’t refuse. The deer was dead weight so he needed carrying. Me carrying him 3/4 mile across two creeks and up the steep slopes rising from the creek bottom wasn’t happening. Me, by myself, chucking him in the back of the Mule wasn’t happening. Don’t know how many have noticed, but whitetails don’t come with convenient handles and he weighed not much less than me. Son was at work. Pretty much all my able bodied friends were at work.

The loader on the Kubota, as is the case with numerous things, makes a two man job into an easy one man job. Before the Kubota, used a variety of machines and methods to transport deer out of the field for processing. Don’t know how it could get much easier than slide into bucket, lift, drive, dump.

Used the backhoe on my LX3310 to hold up logs for the first time so I could more easily cut them into firewood lengths. No more hitting rocks, no more having to roll logs. It was simply awesome.
Is that pine that you’re bucking? I learned pine wasn’t very good firewood a long time ago but could be that was opinion more than fact.

A grapple is pretty good for that purpose as well.

Mowed hopefully for the last time with the B1700. Battery is dead so on to the recharger to see if it can make it through the winter Will check tomorrow. On to the B3200 and picking up the rounds from Thursday. Sunny and mid 50’s today with a breeze. Perfect. IMG_3525.jpeg IMG_3526.jpeg IMG_3527.jpeg

Been a productive few days for mods and maintenance on my BX2380. Got 2" wheel spacers installed, finally got my Heavy Hitch front weight bracket installed (lots of issues with that order, unfortunately), did a full cleaning and maintenance on the mower deck, shimmed the hydraulics to just a smidge above factory since it was reading low, got a toolbox installed, installed the BXpanded skidplate, and installed bolt-on hooks to the QA bucket. Pretty much every extra mod I've wanted to do since buying the tractor, but had been putting off, got done :)

Made some good progress today. I got all the brush done late afternoon, so started on moving the pile of stumps.

Hopefully I can get phase 1 wrapped up tomorrow. Client now has a mountain of brush in their woods.

If you look closely in the pic below you'll see the tractor staged (top right of pic) where I'm putting all this stuff.

NCL4701, Congratulations!

Was the Farmi involved? (That’s where I really thought the story was headed) 🥃

The Farmi was hanging out as a counterweight, but that was all on the deer retrieval outing.

Day 3of easing back in to wood splitting. Today was splitting day. Use the FEL to get the rounds up to the splitter deck. Got a pallet full stacked 5’ high. Will drop some dead ash on a non windy day and continue on IMG_3531.jpeg

Added Some angle iron so I could mount a toolbox to the rear to replace that little pencil box from Kubota. Built a mount for my little Stihl 200T to sit on the fender. Clamped it thru cup holder hole so I didn’t have to drill the fender.

Hooked up to the little yard trailer (5x7) to haul off the leaves I picked up with the Husqvarna rider. Four trailer loads, despite removing 7 trees this summer. But no water oaks means the leaf season will be over a lot sooner. I use a bagger on the little Husky and dump the baskets in the trailer till it’s full, then haul it to a ditch on my property to dump it. It’s not a dump trailer, but I put a tarp in it which makes unloading pretty quick.

With fall in full swing and all the leaves off the trees and bushes. We spent the last week mapping the best route through our property to make a trail and access the back half. (beaver pond split our 40 acres right down the middle.) We do not have access to our back 20 during the summer and we have a nice neighbor that lets us access it once and awhile. But we'd like our own path back there.

Cut trees down yesterday and today dug up the stumps and started clearing a path towards the pond. also dug up the side of the hill pushing dirt down towards the pond.

Hello sir!

I'm really liking this project, I'm sure others are too.

It would be really cool if you started a new thread to track the progress on this guest house.
Hey thanks. I considered creating a build thread in projects, but was leaning against it because it’s gonna take me so darn long and I figured it would be too slow and boring a thread. The frame was cut in September 2022 and then money got tight so the project has been floundering.

But, maybe I should anyway. Thanks for the encouragement!

Slow project, no problem! That's just how the cookie crumbles.

I like projects like this cause, we too want to build a guest house/air bnb cabin. I'm always looking at ideas and techniques that others use.

Keep at it brother!!
