62 Ton or ~44 yards is no joke, that's a solid day of tractor work.

Never seen the cut tire for underlayment trick.........makes sense when I think about it. How were they cut, sawzall?

There is a machine, but I have not seen it. The cuts are clean & a little rubber particles make me believe a rotary blade was involved. I have tried to cut tires in the past & the rubber would pinch the blade. It wasn’t fun. These tires were cut in advance of disposal (landfill I think). They are available, but you are asked to sign a waiver stating you’re not going to do something environmentally irresponsible with them. This is a way to get a little more use out of an oil d tire.

The elk were checking out my work yesterday morning! I'm planning on hooking up the smaller dump trailer to the MX this afternoon and continuing to "excavate" in preparation for gravel. I'll be using the EA box blade behind the M and the loader in front to loosen and then load up the trailer.

You are right. Except the traffic will be cattle. Our local NRCS says the life of a stock pond where cattle can freely walk around is 17 yrs. Then, the pond is shallow because of the cow’s hooves beating down the banks & pushing mud to the center. There is a lot of weight on the small surface area of a cow’s hoof.
A pond where cattle have restricted access can last 35+ yrs. This watering lane is that spot where the cattle will be able to get a drink (& the only spot). The rest of the pond will be fenced. There will be temporary panels between the posts that can be moved as the water level goes up or down. This will limit the amount of steel exposed to water (rust).
There is more work to be done. Stay tuned.

I cut and pulled a number of cedar trees just as a matter of cleanup. This time I had to pull them from down steep embankment up to the gravel drive. I'm convinced they grow faster than I can cut them.

Broken water service repair today. Kind of a crappy job at a very nice home. Didn't bother taking any pictures...

36" grading bucket worked very well for the clean up. I have to remember to not be so lazy and actually unchain it from the trailer and actually use it! It's so much faster and does a much better job being "toothless".

On to another water service in the morning. This one ought to be a real hoot. Steep front yard with pole (and several guy wires) right where we need to make the connection at the curb stop.

Cattle as individuals are not destructive (if they have food and water) it's a herd of them that makes a difference. Kind of like humans!

Oh this could have been bad. Caught some horse wire(previous owner had in 1970s, generously left me pieces scattered everywhere) underneath the tractor frame, didn't make it to the shredder. This wire is thick and strong too. Glad I saw this quickly and easy fix to remove.

ZEP orange cleaner will wipe the grease right off of it, and bonus will leave it smelling like an orange!

Can't reach all the pivot areas behind the frame/lift arms. I think I'm gonna have to start pressure washing it more often, like every 50hrs to see if that helps cut down on the amount of grease build-up.

No kidding! Not gonna shred along brush areas in the evenings anymore, gonna stick to the open areas that I have shredded before.

Skidsteer, rear pivot pins not easily accessible. All the grease in the rear falls down into the frame/machine.
Every 10hours the zerks get greased and depending on what attachment is on. It can easily use a half tube of grease every 10 hours.

No, but I think I'm gonna use the drain off the water heater next time, probably put one those in line screen gaskets that are on sprinklers so the pressure washer doesn't suck any debris from the water heater.

If you have a business (farm?) I would strongly suggest that you try to budget for a HOT pressure washer.
I have a 50 year old Hotsy (brand), electric motor washer, with only 1,000 psi.
The 1,000 psi hot pressure water will 100% out clean my 4,000 psi 13Hp Honda powered, (cat pump), cold water washer.
The domestic water heater hose method will be a bit better than straight cold water, but 200 degree water, with high pressure, and dedicated burner heated water is vastly superior.
