What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Making a stone retaining wall before the driveway gets paved. Got all of the stone from around the mountain. This tractor is getting a workout. Another 20 hours till my first service.

Installed some ROPS lights this weekend. Took all of 15 minutes. They came with all the install hardware specific to my M5140. I thought they'd be bright, but they've exceeded my expectations. John at ropslights.com was great to deal with. Top notch quality.
Will try to get some better photos and further away to see the reach these babies have.

Do LED lights not draw in bugs as bad as regular lights?

I still have standard lighting on my tractors and the bugs are a PIA during the summer. I couldn't imagine how bad it would be with lights right by my head like that.

Bulldog, you've got a good point. Will be able to give feedback soon.....skeeters are out here! My guess is they will attract the bugs.

My grapple/FEL block the light from the front headlamps so needed to place the LED's up high. My other option was to mount in the front of the canopy. Might help a little with the bugs.

Beautiful, mathews xt 600! I love the look of 'natural' stone walls a little more than the look of quarry-cut rock. And I'm very happy for you that you can get it locally, and hopefully for not much more than the cost of diesel.

I know I have seen lots of people with their LEDs mounted right on the ROPS so I was curious if they had some hidden advantage on the bugs. I know when I'm running after dark my lights are bug magnets.

I built the canopy on my L3000 so lights can be mounted pretty much anywhere, it's all steel. No "open" M9000 had a factory installed canopy so mounting points were limited. I went as far to the front on the canopy tubing and mounted mine. They were right at the edge of the top and worked perfect.

I'm looking forward to hearing what you think about the bug draw. I'm guessing they're worse in Fla. but our skeeters are out as well. Be safe my friend.

Bulldog, I didn't think about it, but up in the canopy is a fan (car radiator fan) that should at least keep those skeeters at bay. Wish it was a variable speed one...it nearly blows your hat off!

If you have time post a pic of your fan. I haven't thought about using one of those but I bet that really does move some air.

10-4 Bulldog, will do! Dealer put it in; did a real clean install. They made an angle steel brace to support the fan and bolted it onto the canopy frame. The only downfall is that when it's really dusty, it's like being under a sandblaster.

That fan looks like it would make quite a storm.

Used my kubota to clean an atv gas tank. Wrapped it in an old jacket, strapped it to a back wheel and jacked wheels off the ground. Put it in first gear and
Let a couple pounds of nuts clunk around for 30 minutes.
Cleaned it up nice. Wife said i couldnt use dryer.

Thanks for the pic, I have never thought of mounting a fan like that. I tried a couple of the small ones that you normally see on dashboards and in equipment and it always seemed they were in the way or in my case got removed by a tree limb. I just may have to visit the local auto parts and get me one of those, if I can ever get time.

That fan might well be 1100cfm at like 1" of water pressure. Bad a$$ fan. I'd get a variable speed something for it. Not sure if a "dimmer" would do it or if you need something else. Anyway, cool setup.

I started clearing the back corner of my property. Is quite a mess back there with decades of dumping of lawn debris and downed limbs and anything else that needed to be disposed of. Finally broke through the frozen few inches and dug a hole 3 feet deep to do the burning. 6 hrs. of burning just about done at this point for the day in the picture. I think I could do this for another ten days without question. Day by day, between mother nature, and I will eventually get this area looking better. A day of chainsaw and tractor and fire. Ahhh, good day!
