Did some mowing. Surprised by sugar maple leaves down already. Similar last mowing. That tree is not in the best condition.
In 33 years, this lawn hasn’t been mowed at 1pm on a Thursday, unless it was July 4……

Made an appox 50 x 75' cut from my newly acquired pasture to back of my corral area. There was an existing gate between the 2 properties at one point. Probably 15 years of overgrowth. Very heavy brush, enormous mounds of Cactus. I probably moved over 3 tons of prickly pear Cactus in this area. I lost count after 20 buckets with the skidsteer.

Grubbed all the trees and brush out of the shooting lane/gun range. This is located in my other newly acquired pasture. Looking forward to using this.
Lead & Copper deposits, the PO had a small gun store by the FM road on this property for about 12 years.
Sunsets are always beautiful here.

I haven’t seen them around yet but I’m sure they are attracted to the sounds and smells. We have around 4 different hawks here and bald eagles. Add in barred and great horned owls as well. We’ll see how good my chicken wire job really is.
Yeah, ‘Mom’ was sitting on the corner of the coop today when I got back from a couple errands. She REALLY wants chicken for dinner. Gives me pause to reconsider putting a little more framing in the overhead of the run.

Our friend got one of those dancing blowup things and put it in her run. Keeps the hawks at bay. Can buy a lot of lumber for that money. Hope the hawks can’t read. They may show up like a bunch of frat boys to a strip club.
I have couple of them I put in my blueberries to keep the birds out, works good for most of the season then they start to get used to them towards the end.
I did, and it did. But now I have a girlfriend with long blonde hair who's not struggling with weight issues and loves to shoot the .50 cal.
My wife LOVES those things. She would sit and watch it all day. The folks across the road have converted their farm into an event venue. Even having rodeos now. They have 3 or 4 regularly scheduled events and have one of those for each one to set up by the entrance to the property. We can see it from the front door.
Don’t really want the hawks to leave so much as just leave the girls alone. No hawks and I get overwhelmed with squirrels and chipmunks. I take a few out with my .22 cal pellet rifle, but it’s much more satisfying to watch a hawk snatch the life out of them. If a hawk gets them, I don’t have to bury them. Always a plus on rock hard clay. They’re beautiful birds and very beneficial because of firearms restrictions in the city limits. I’d be using something a bit more effective than a .22 cal pellet rifle. They will move on when they decimate the rodents. I’ve watched the cycle for 20 years.
Your tractor looks like my tractor went on a serious diet. I got the LX2610SU (same as yours without the backhoe) but with the oversized R14s. The rear tires on yours look so skinny. The back of mine looks like a big ‘ol chunky butt. I originally was going to get a hoe for it, but delivery issues changed my mind because the LX was selling faster than BH-77 production could keep up. Price was a factor too. I can rent a mini-ex a lot of times for the price of the BH-77. I like the extra width and height, but did have to move my lift arm links, and having them ballasted REALLY makes it stable. Unless I forget 4WD and turn really sharp, I don’t have much damage to the turf.Washed and waxed the lx2610 this evening.

I added the Summit 3FV kit. Great addition, but could have been a little better with a few minor plumbing mods. I don’t like that it’s in series with the FEL, and the fact the valve is not a PB valve aggravates the flow stalling issues. Next major upgrade will likely be rear remotes, but not a third party system. I’ll bite the bullet for the Kubota system and self install to save a few pennies.
I’m too damn old to wait for another one to get used to me. I’m gonna keep the one I have. A lot less expensive that way.
