We had a big storm roll through the other day and I have almost a half mile of gravel driveways to grade. So I went down the hill and mined all my gravel that jumped my water bars. Took it back up and spread it out. Then made everything all nicey nice with the box blade.

The wood we often call hedge is Osage Orange, here's the full story.
I have a friend that used Osage Orange to make bearings for very large rollers. He said they lasted years longer than reg bearings.

Stopped by a local landscape supply looking for some decorative rock (as in a couple bags for decorative planters) and ran across some odd lot concrete pavers on sale for a price worth picking them up without having a specific project in mind. Bought them yesterday and went back with the trailer today. When they set the bigger one on the trailer I was thinking there was about a 5% chance my little CUT would take it off without reloading and splitting it into two pallets. But, it raised it approximately 1” above the trailer deck so off it came. Put it on the ground beside the shed and then tried picking it up again just to see if moving it elsewhere as is was possible. Kind of surprised it lifted off the ground about a foot so I guess it can be moved. Planned to take a pic if it moved the big one but when it did I was not comfortable leaving the operator seat even long enough to take a pic, particularly since doing so would have removed about 220lb of ballast.

Smaller pallet was well within capacity as it was only 3 1/2 layers instead of 5 1/2.

Later in the afternoon, took some little 1” to 2” trees off the side of the pond to expand a little seating area and fed them to the chipper to put some fresh mulch on the area they just came from. While down there, sighted one of the grass carp. They were put in there a little over 30 years ago so it was nice to see there’s still at least one out there. If you look closely in the first picture you can see a rather large fish hanging out near the surface.

View is a bit more pleasant without a bunch of scrubby little trees in the way.

I like how everybody has to stay out of the woods for fear of getting stuck in the mud. Where I am the woods are the firm part. I need to stay out of the driveway to keep from rutting it up. I was thinking about trying to scrape some of the granular snow off of the driveway, but it's real soft and it would be a chore. I'm hoping it'll dry up relatively quickly, but it usually ends up a sloppy mess.

Got my little BX25D stuck (4 wheels spinning) while clearing my walking paths around the property. Just too much heavy, wet snow for the snowblower to process and then got high centered. 15 minutes of digging out with the wife unit and was back in business. I clear about a 1/4 mile of walking path around the “yard” for walking the pooch and ourselves. A “pano” view of about 1/3 of my 12 acres in NH.

Oh boy, that looks like a brush fire waiting to happen!
I would be terrified to mow that, one good spark and that's all she wrote!
Thank you. It is actually not nearly as dry as it looks -- which is why I am cutting it now in the "wet" season before it truly is too dry. Thanks again.

My woods are high, dry and firm. It is getting to them that is my problem. A steep wet lawn leading to the lowland that is soggy.

My entire property is covered in 2 to 4 foot of snow, no getting anywhere till that melts down a lot!

Yeah. I guess I'm not quite to that much snow... Maybe a foot to 18". Nothing I can't drive over. Driveway is just slushy mud, though. Or is it muddy slush?

6 hours of mowing in various places on the property.

I have some spots that have become overgrown in Ragweed stalks and Dewberry vines. Rough area and too small to get my larger tractor and Bat-wing into. So the little Kubota is just right for those areas.

But had to rinse the "little tractor that could' off real well afterward. Covered in Dust, Pollen and chaff.

27 yrs. old and still running strong though!

Got my controls mounted behind the cab so I can operate the 3pt arms and my hydraulic top link while standing behind the tractor. Also relocated my rear camera. :)

It’s not magic, just what we have. I have plenty, I can hook you up. It can be interesting to process.
(My company has/is purchasing equipment from a vendor in Milford, CT. I’ve been there a couple times.)
Nice' I’m only a few towns away. No hedge around here, I believe the closest we have to it’s BTU’s firewood wise is Black Locust.

I had a really good day. Pulled some more stumps and move cut trees around before lunch. Then drove 60 miles to look at a rock rake found on market place. It looked like 6' in the pictures' was going to offer $350.
It is 7' and the tines are all there with little wear. I gave him the asking price of $400 and he loaded it up. It needs painted but it is well built. Just have to get more done with the BH before I can try it out.
I priced a new 6' on Saturday at $795. I think I did ok.

As much as I enjoy using the Kubota for snow removal........I am reaching the end of my joy, which is about right for the end of the season. This past weekends 14" of heavy wet snow on top of my non-frozen gravel driveway was messy to clear. The options were to either leave 2" that would turn the long hill into a frozen luge or scrape a little dirt with the back blade. I did what I could to take as little dirt as possible and let the March sun do the rest.

The good news is I was able to do some storm prep and hit all the zerks on the blower and associated gear......

Looking forward to some Spring clean up with the saw and tractor if things ever melt.......

Going to be a heck of a mud season this year.

Maybe this will get some grass growing. No, not the Dingo. He is a grass murderer. He appears to be guarding the sweet smelling soil from the groundhogs.

Got to play on the bota a little today, most of the ground still pretty wet, did get a small patch tilled up for some strawberries. Got a chance to try out the new garden bedder.

View attachment 96715

notice how muddy the case is 😂 sent son to get a load of mulch, it’s still pretty soggy back there 😂.
Lemme know how the strawberries do. Apparently, they don't bear so well the first year. Well, correcting myself, they put on berries, but seem to rot faster than they ripen. We put some in last year, and hoping to have better luck with 2nd year growth. If not, those things are just wasting space for something else in the raised beds. I've got 'em in some pretty sandy soil with pine mulch mixed in, and put landscaping cloth over that to keep the berries out of the dirt. We'd tried them in a spot in the back yard a few years ago, but those also rotted before we got anything off 'em.

I made about 15 trips with a bucket full of fill for the east side of my bee equipment storage building.
About a 5 minuet round trip with a 400' elevation change. I have lots of small stone down there just have to cut a drive in this summer. Then I will recoat the 1/2 mile drive with it.
I got the tractor new beginning of December and it turned over 60 hrs. today.
