Makes me wonder if you didn't have the PTO at 540.
My friend wanted a "lesson" and he did just that initially and created a big clump of cut grass. He has an L4060 and wasn't used to anything in the MX. But in fairness to him, it was doing it before he tried it. I run it around 540 rpm but I wonder if a bad hammer could cause this to happen.

I was able to listen the flail when my friend was running it and it sure is quiet. The tractor is way louder. Also, there's significantly less shock to the driveline when engaging the PTO compared to a rotary cutter that has a lot more rotating inertia to overcome.

Have been spending this week prepping my land for a "open house" event highlighting prairie/oak savanna habitat restoration. I have guest speakers from US Fish and Wildlife and Central Wisconsin Invasive partners plus self guided tours and a few other activities. If any of the fine folks here that live in Central Wisconsin would like to stop in please PM for more information. The event is July 16th 9:30am to 2pm.

The pictures below are the main parking areas that I have been mowing with the L2501.

Greased the FEL for the first time on the LX tonight @11 hours. Pumped some Li400 through all 12 of the zerk fittings until I saw nothing but Li400 coming out and wiped the old moly/synthetic grease away. Capped off all the zerks with lock n lube's yellow caps.

Will probably hit the 3 underbody fittings tomorrow before I go grind stumps.

Broke out the B3200 and brush cut the barn pad so they can start the prep in the next few weeks. Also cut back around the perimeter of the property. Hot work. Ran out of time. Will finish the trails next week.

Ran the stump grinder and got rid of all my stumps that aren't covered by brush. Finally got the hang of this thing. The first time it was used, went too fast/cut too deep and stalled the tractor a few times. Never stalled this time or sputtered, took it easy the whole way and the LX handled all the cedar and buckthorn stumps like a champ.

14 hours on it now 😁

Mowed grass, used the forks to move pallets of wood, patio stones and implements around. Ran out of work before I got my fill of fun.

After waiting just over 4 months from the time I put a deposit down I finally got my Grand L60 L3560 yesterday! Had to wait on all the hydraulic valves and implements. I still don't have the grapple nor the fork set. Cab and AC are nice down here in the 105F SW desert! Today I bolted on my old man double steps and learned how to set the display. However, it is displaying kph instead of MPH and the manual doesn't have a hint on how to change it. Haven't figured it out yet, thus my trip to the forum.

Used Herculiner bed spray on the step. Let it cure for 4 days before I reinstalled it on the tractor. We’ll see how well it holds up.

The forest fought back....
I was clearing out piles of tree limbs I cut down last winter. First, a tree pulled the cotter pin on the FEL leg. Second, a tree moved behind me so when I backed up I almost drove up the side of the tree and rolled over. Third, a tree limb pulled the left quick release lever on the grapple. Fourth, the forest threw some hidden chicken wire in the load and wrapped it around the front right axle.

Cleared the property lines yesterday and between being beaten by branches, something snagged the hook that holds the top link and ripped it off. May go looking for it Sunday

That's a great idea. My paint is already wearing off after 14 hours of use 😔 I wonder how much Line-X would charge

I loaded the BX up and went over to my niece's house and mowed her lawn. I've been rebuilding her JD LA125 and it's not quite done yet, and her lawn was getting pretty shaggy. The BX with the new Oregon Gator blades make short work of it.
