Pulled out some old fence posts with the bucket hooks and a chain. Running a string line so I can put in new posts
I've pulled a lot of fence posts with a hi-lift jack, and a bunch more with a chain/bucket/tractor which sure beats the jack. But .... if I ever replace the 3/4 mile of fencing around my property I'll be buying one of those hydraulic post/tree pullers. Not too bad when you have a helper, but still, hydraulic is the way to go.

I picked up the M6060 from the dealer this morning and drove it 3 miles home. I want this beast to be as stable as possible on my hilly property so had the wheels set to widest and beet juice ballast added. I might add wheel weights at some point too. It looks more like the back end of an M5 now.

I was in Illinois for work all last week so it was the perfect time to have the following options added:

Creep range
540/540E
3rd function
Third remote with float option
Top-n-tilt

I like the stainless steel hard lines running along the loader arm but I don't like the hoses they made up for the top-n-tilt. Just no thought put into how they were set up. Also, a panel was scratched, there were oil smudges all over the place and generally I'm not impressed with their work this time. That's what I get for not buying the M6060 from them I guess.

I'm taking the MX6000 to the dealer tomorrow to have the wheels altered to the second to widest setting, or maybe the widest, I still have time to think about it.

If you don't mind answering, what did adding the Creep range cost?

I don't mind at all. The Creep "cassette" with installation was $1,184. No one at the dealer has any idea what the manual is talking about when it describes how to and how not to use Creep range.

I am down to only two logs for tomorrow morning and this sawing job will be completed.

Well folks, I did it. My borrowed time finally came due: I wedged the post-hole-digger and the lil BX couldn’t lift it out.

My soil is glacial till and there’s an abundance of “potatoes” waiting to be found. They range from softball to lumpy beachball sized. I can usually work them up (or around them) and the trick is to feather the 3-point down so that it’s not given any chance to “thread” onto a rock. But, it was the last hole for the night (naturally), and I just got lazy and let it drill on in.

The auger would spin just fine, but no matter how I nudged it for and aft, it just wasn’t budging.

Fortunately, my rescue plan that I’ve had in the back of my mind for this eventuality worked out just fine. Sure would have been nice to carry all that heavy stuff out to the field with the loader bucket…

Just for an idea how stuck it was, I darn near broke the single 4x4 in the first pic and had to double it up before I could get any movement.

I'm sorry this happened to you, but I must say---VERY inventive solution.

Well done.

I only had about 10 to take out. Got posts in all the holes and started to get them lined up. I'll finish them up tomorrow night.

I don't have a grabber bucket, so I've been using a debris bag to haul leaves and brush to the burn pile. Finally got around to ordering a set of Kens hooks...boy does that make it easier...

Did the front end get a little light as you are going up the hill? I have never used a ZT but it seams like driving up a steep hill does not sound like a great idea. Stopping the mower as you go down backwards does not look like something you want to do either. I load some equipment on my trailer butt first because driving up the ramps forward allows the front end to become squirrely.
Yes a couple times the front wanted to “wheelie” but not a “puckerable” event. Backing down the hills requires a steady, purposeful, motion.
This was much easier on the BX in 4WD but as I said, I will get used to it with the ZT. Some weights on the front would be advantageous but I’m not at that point yet.

Some pics of my “hill challenge” 😊

The last time there was vehicle access to this fence from my side was the mid “80s. I now have plenty of brush piles to burn. I will pull some of the Hedge wood out of them for future heating needs. The Honey Locust & Cedar can just burn.

After finishing sawing the customer's logs into lumber he;

Used the Kubota to pull the sawmill to firm footing so I could get the truck to it.

17,261 board feet stickered under the drying shed. (That is not a very good stickering job but I was sawing and the customer was stickering.)

Hopped on the B1700 to mow today. Gave me a couple fits getting started but after making sure the clutch was in, transmission in neutral and my butt in the seat it started up. Got done and parked it in the garage and went in to my next activity, cleaning the chicken brooder. Walking to empty the waste I looked down and saw this in the grass. Interesting. It isn’t from the seat or the clutch. The only one it can be is the transmission interlock and yes it won’t start now. Guess I have an after dinner activity now.

I don’t care for the potential of corrosion, etc. of direct ground-contact with implements. (I store shredders, etc on top of boards or bricks to avoid direct metal-to-ground contact.)

So I built a rolling stand which keeps my PHD upright, and all I have to do to hitch it up, is roll the stand up to the 3-pt,, put the pin thru the top-link, lift the lift-arms into position and install the lynch-pins, and hook up the PTO. Then start the tractor and raise the 3-pt …and pull the stand away from the tractor.

Reverse the procedure to store it again.

I didn’t invent the stand…I copied the one found on YouTube….wish I’d kept a copy of the link.

Basically, it’ made of 4” square tubing. I’ll take a pic and post it later.

I'll second that your solution was inventive :)

On my L3400 / BH years ago I did the same thing. Was unable to rock it free. A 3' pipe wrench with a 2' pipe 'extension' made it easy to remove. Just unscrew it.
