I put 2 hours onto my brand new BX1880 learning the basics of operating the FEL while digging into some root filled compost and debris. Had a blast, got in the mud a bit and made a mess...felt like a little kid in a bigger sandbox.

It was muggy and buggy today so before I mowed the lawn I mounted magnets on my Ryobi 18V battery operated fan - kept me cool and kept the bugs out of my face!
Hey Jeep.....where did you get those nice big round magnets you used ?? I like your idea!!!

thx

Polishammer, what's the "rest of the story"?
Simple operator error.

I have not seen it first hand when it happen, just after the fact, but the user parked the tractor on the side slope to use the backhoe. The operator was wearing shorts and somehow the boom swing lever got stuck in operators shorts leg while she was moving around the tractor and the boom swung from one side to the other causing the tractor to flip throwing her off of the machine.

I was hoping that my BX would be enough to flip it back, but it would just spin. Not enough weight even with my 200lb ass. Had to bring my truck to make it work.

Fortunately no one was hurt, just bruised egos. We flipped it, let it sit for few hours, checked and topped of all the fluids and it fired right up. No damage whatsoever.

That gal was lucky! There's a couple of lessons there. One, don't use a tractor sideways on an embankment. Two, what you wear while around machinery can have an effect on your safety. Got to be thinking about it all the time!!

well just for giggles.... took the B8200 i picked up out & mowed the yard with it.

my usual mowing is with the Hustler HyperDrive, thought this would be a good time to play/compare the 2.

mowed about 5 acres. took me about 3hrs vs 2hrs on the Hustler.

only used about a gallon of diesel vs 4 gallons of gas. that was a plus!

Grass looks pretty good. the blades on the deck were unknown, but they cut it down just fine.

surprised me how tight the 8200 actually turns! its not a zero like my Hustler.. but it was very manageable around the trees & such.

picked this 8200 up because the price said "buy me".... might start cycling it in/out of the grass mowing rotation or heaven help me.... stick my wife on it & have both of us mowing again.

last time we did that : she hit THE HOUSE with the tractor.

I have digging up stumps around the hacienda for the past couple of days. Today I put my rig to work picking them all up and dumping them into a large ditch at the upper end of our property.

I have a lot of pine roots above ground making grass cutting a real pain so I embarked on pulling them up. About 5 years ago I took an old chain on my saw and cut them off at ground level.

Now they are back 3 and 4 inches above the ground. Took my tater plow dropped it behind them eased forward and lifted at same time, worked great. Then took strap with loop son each end and wrapped around the exposed roots and pulled them up using front bucket.

It will take another day to finish up and fill in with some dirt but no more roots in my way of grass cutting.

Hey.... It's on the wrong end of the tractor! ;)

Besides mowing some, I use my front loader to move just about everything over 50 pounds. (Three low Back surgeries)
