Today I finished moving 43 tons of 1 inch minus compaction rock to build a pad for my new garage. My little B3350SU sure showed her stuff

It's 24 hour daylight and everything is growing like crazy. My South pasture has grown and it's time for a trim. 80 degrees out there (sweltering for us). I brought out the old B7100 and 48" brush hog. Got 5 of the 10 acres mowed. Lower portion is too wet still. Heres a coule pics my son took. That tractor is so small compared to the 3901 and I definitely don't like the Armstrong steering. Fun beast. 40 years old this year and still going.
I miss living in NP, but it doesn't get -50 where I am now either

Woke up to this yesterday...right side axle seal completely failed.

Spent the last couple if days chipping while waiting for parts.

New wheel arrived and the new tie rod...K1253-16603...the answer to what the difference is between the new 03 vs the older 02 is the new one is beefier...larger nuts, girth...the boot is clear...not sure if the boot is more substantial... doesn't look to be on first glance.

I adapted this ripper to a transformer hitch using a 2.5" to 2" reducer. Funny thing is the attachment and the ripper are from the same outfit, but the ripper is 2" and the attachment receiver is 2.5" and the holes don't line up. Anyway got it drilled out and all is well. I gots me some rippin' to do in the old garden. Maybe put a water line in the ground too.

Repaired my bucket level indicator. I broke the pin attached to the quick disconnect twice. I shortened the link that attaches to the pin at that location.

I got ambitious and jumped on the 7100 and finished brushhogging the lower pasture. While I was at it I looked back to check the brush hog and was surprised to see I'd picked up a following. Several mated pairs of sandhill cranes were walking along behind me. They were happily eating frogs and mice being displaced by my mowing. When I'd turn around and come back they'd only move a few feet to let me pass. Obviously these big birds have seen tractors before. Cool to get 15 to 20 feet from them. When I stopped to try and fish out my phone they moved away. When I got off the tractor they flew to the other end of the field. Fun to watch. Those big birds thats for sure.

Been ripping up concrete with the backhoe. This afternoon I will use the broken concrete to fill a hole at the back of the property. The teeth on the backhoe bucket were almost worn off when I got it, the bucket is coming off so I can replace the teeth after this project.

Not today, but yesterday, I dug all the caps out of the holes that I plan on using to mount the loader subframe. I forgot to bring along bolts to check for size last time I was there, so I'll need to go back up to chase the threads. Plan on using a dremel to cut grooves into grade 8 bolts to clean the rust out of the holes.

Filled a hole with broken concrete and dug a hole for a new foundation. Dipper arm cylinder had a nice gush of oil spurt out at one point, so it looks like I'll be pulling that cylinder and off to the hydraulic shop I go for a new seal.
