Actually, if you want to find "Runs With Scissors", that is dead easy. Simply phone Caswells and ask them where they just delivered a 40 ton load of "Black Oxide Concentrate".That sneaky bugger, I found him lurking in my neighborhood too!

RWS asked: Is that the same type of tumbler used for cleaning brass when reloading?Yooper said:
Now you are going to have to buy a vibratory tumbler to get rid of the milling marks. See, this stuff never ends! Seriously, nice job on the tee nut and that black makes it look professional!
Thanks for the pics and the link. That looks pretty nice.RWS asked: Is that the same type of tumbler used for cleaning brass when reloading?
Sorry for getting back to you so late but I just finished a part out of 4140 that I tossed in the vibratory bowl and I wanted to show you the results. To answer your question, yes this is the same thing you use for brass cartridges. I used this media from McMaster in the bowl with just enough water to wet the media along with a couple of drops of dishwashing soap to make it a bit slippery so the part moves through the media better. https://www.mcmaster.com/4918A192/

This was only 2 hours in the bowl but you can see the milling marks have been softened.

The top on this picture was surface ground so don't get deceived about the finish.
