I would assume the construction of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power station. is constructed like Chernobyl... I.E. no containment shell.
And looking at this photo from 2019 I do not see any containment structures around the reactors.
My guess from the photo is that it has 6 reactors at that site.

The containment is the large red dome like structure. what is over chernobyl reactor 4 is a sarcophagus

There is a lot of propaganda flying around especially from ukraine, not that i blame them. But seems like it would be a real bad idea for russia to mess with nuke plants, that would give NATO or US a reason to strike.
Ive been seeing a lot of "news" on youtube that ive never heard of and have computer voices.

I've read

Ukrainian forces retreated to the shelter of the plant, pursued by RF forces. . "Office fires" are involved.

It would be nice if that were it.

Yes but the red dome you see are very unlikely to withstand an artillery shell....
If built like the US (There is a nuke plant near where I grew up and had a very similar looking containment), and it may not be, it would be 3-6 feet thick of steel reinforced concrete with another 2-3 inches of steel plating interior to that. It isn't AR steel but that is still substantial. Not saying by any means that it is impossible for artillery to get through but it would take a wallop. Again their standards may not have been anywhere close to that of the US so it could be paper thin. I don't know and I really don't want to find out via an artillery bombardment either.

"Zaporizhzhia generates a quarter of the nation’s electricity. One of its six reactors was on fire after the shelling, a plant spokesman said, adding that it was not operating but contained nuclear fuel.

The blaze was eventually contained and the plant was secured, officials said."

from NYP ...whatever that is worth.

The fire was in a training building, they report that it has been contained for now.
They did hit reactor 6 but it was offline, but did get damaged.
The whole complex sustained technical, mechanical, and equipment damage that's being evaluated.
No radiation leaks are being measured, 3 different measuring agencies have said it's safe for now.

The EU is going into another emergency session tomorrow.
I'm pretty sure they are VERY unhappy that Russia is doing that!
Anything like that happens in Ukraine and it immediately effects everyone in the whole EU area!

What I would like to know, (this is rhetorical) what kind of idiot army / soldier / military / president, purposely tries to cause a nuclear disaster????

Quite the "War". Ukraine's entire infrastructure is intact still, sans internet. Having watched the MSM lie about the virus for over 2 years, I trust zero reporting by them on this recent wag the dog event. FJB

I wonder if Russia causes a release in radiation if it will be seen as an attack on the surrounding countries causing a NATO military response.

Here's a link by the US govt directing what to do in case of a nuclear explosion. It's almost hilarious to read. Instructions to keep 6' distance from non family members and wear a mask!

I would think at that point in life those two things would be of very little importance!!!!!

The real instructions are actually pretty simple. "Bend over, put your head between your knees, and kiss your a$$ goodbye."

It is a difficult stretch to unify all Native Americans as one people.
BINGO! Native Americans warred amongst themselves over land and utter genocide was commonplace in their conquests. Cancel Culture doesn't teach that now, though, and hasn't for a very long time. Glad someone else besides me learned that too. The evidence of those wars is still there, as part of the different cultures of the different nations and tribes.

Likewise, Ukranians were Ukranians BEFORE they were "Russians" under the hammer and scythe of the USSR. They were conquered and occupied by Russia after WWII, basically on their way back home, as were most of the Easter Bloc countries. Russia was one of our bestest buddies in WWII, by making the Germans look over their shoulders as we and western Europe were hammering their front door. Ol' Adolf didn't think far enough ahead about the difficulties of fighting a sustained war against people protecting their homes through a hard winter. The difference is, once the Germans were beat and the world could breathe again, the Russians weren't going home empty handed after losing so many soldiers in the war. But, 60 years down the road, and the USSR comes apart at the seams simply because it wasn't a sustainable way to operate such an enormous empire. And the very person that agreed to that, is now the one trying to put that jigsaw puzzle back together again.

Ruling by oppression has never worked well, and I think we're about to see that lesson learned again. Iraq tried it. Turned out badly. Twice. ISIS/Al Qaeda tried it. Turned out badly, and continues to this day. But we've let the pressure off them, and they're gaining foothold again.

Maybe the western ways of education (leaving out the most important bits) has affected the world more than we know? Those in favor of rewriting history to soften it up and make it prettier might want to sit up and take some notes. What's going on is not new. We may not be leaving any children behind, but none are getting ahead either.

We will take America without firing a shot ... we will bury you!

"We can't expect the American people to jump from capitalism to communism, but we can assist their elected leaders in giving them small doses of socialism, until they awaken one day to find that they have communism.

"We do not have to invade the United States, we will destroy you from within."

Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev 1956.

Look closely boys and girls and see how far off the mark he was!

Russia started off early occupying the Chernobyl nuclear complex.
Now Russia has taken the largest nuclear generating station in Europe by force.
They are now headed to try and take over the second largest nuclear generating station in Ukraine.

The only reason he's able to do what he's doing is he's got his finger on the button.
Everyone knows that pushing him in any way will just set him off.

Putin the global nuclear terrorist.

Has anyone noticed that the military equipment that Russia is using is some of the oldest junk I've ever see a military use?
Well I got my answer today with video of Russia moving much more advanced and up to date military equipment towards the Ukraine border.

I don't think there is anyway the Ukraine is going to be able to reverse what Putin is doing to them, and it's truly sad and troubling.
What area is he going to push to do this to next, many think it will be Moldova, then Finland and Sweden.

At what point will the world have enough of this school bully antics?
At what point do we say enough is enough and kick him / them in the privates?
And when they are down kick them again.

I just read that we (USA) are still allowing sales and purchasing of oil, oil products, and natural gas from Russia.
WHY????

Yeah, I noticed that early on, and not only old equipment, but not very experienced soldiers. I think Putin is using the Russian playbook from WWII. When fighting the Germans, they would send in the inexperienced troops first as cannon fodder to wear down the enemy and save the crack troops for later.
