To those looking for 20.5x8-10 tires

I realize I'm resurecting a 5 year old thread, but this is the one that both Google and the site pull up when searching for this info.



And now they're discontinued again.

Mine came with Goodyear 20.5 x 8 x 10 trailer tires on the front from the dealer. According to the original owner, it shipped with Ag tires, but he wanted turfs so the dealer switched them out. At 20psi, I measured the worn tires' circumference to be 65" even.

I replaced them with the 20 x 10 x 10 Carlisle "All Trail 2" ATV tire mentioned above. At 20 psi, I measure the circumference to be 64-3/8" -- which works out to a calculated 20.49" diameter. Tread width is virtually identical at 7", although the trailer tire sidewalls bulge considerably more on each side.

I really like the tread compared to the trailer tire.

Flash forward 6 years. I've been happy with the traction, but the sidewalls are now heavily cracked and the left one has developed a slow leak. Adding the FEL may have been a factor there. Time to replace them.

Back in 2017, I paid Amazon US$153 for the pair - a little over CDN$200. Today, Amazon.com doesn't have any and Amazon.ca wants almost CDN$300 PER TIRE!!! I found a better price at an independent Canadian supplier, but they're still north of CDN$200 each after shipping and taxes.

Holy sticker shock Batman.

Looking for alternatives, I stumbled across these Chinese "Predator GTW/AT" brand off-road tires at a golf-cart supply. CDN$232 for both, with taxes and shipping.

Strikingly similar tread pattern, and a claimed 818lb capacity at 12psi (the AT2s are rated 695lb@20psi). I'm not sure I entirely believe that claim, but they are 4 nylon plies so they should at least be in the neighbourhood of the AT2, right? <lol>

Anyway, I figured they were worth a try. I'll get them mounted up and measure the rolling circumference, etc. Then time will tell...

Tale of the tape:

Mounted on the rims, the Predator is clearly wider and smaller diameter than the AT2:

As can be clearly seen above, the Predator is wider -- almost 2" wider. It's almost 9" wide! The extra width doesn't interfere with anything when installed though, so I think that it could be a good thing -- less ground pressure, more load capacity?

At 12psi, the Predator has an unloaded circumference of 62"; the worn AT2 is 63-7/8" -- 1-7/8" longer.

At 20psi, the difference narrows slightly. Predator unloaded circumference expands to 62-3/4"; the AT2 to 64-1/4" -- still 1-1/2" longer.

They do fit nicely, no interference with anything:

And now for the all important rolling circumference measurement. Remember, the ideal length for the B7100 is 61" with an acceptable range of 59.75" to 62.25". With the FEL installed but unloaded and tires inflated to 20psi, the Predator RC is <drum roll please>:

a near-perfect 60-7/8"!

Not too bad, I'll take it. Interesting that they clearly have less squish. Maybe the load capacity really is 818lbs?

Now for the big question: How long will these Chinese tires last?

I'll vouch for the Kenda K513's as I just installed a set last month. They are literally the only true turf tire you can get in 20.5x8.00-10 anymore. 4wd is smooth as butter

Another vote for the Kenda K513’s. I have a set on my late model B7100 Hst and very happy with them.

Oddly, they don't seem to be available north of the border. And when I tried a few US websites (even eBay), they wouldn't ship to Canada.

That is strange! Must be some sort of goofy export law. Are your rears the original Bridgestone Pillow Dia's? I decided to replace mine when I did the fronts since they were full of sidwall cracks (but still held air). They were still stamped 1985! The guy at the tire shop laughed when he realized the tires were older than he was haha.

I doubt it's a law. But quite likely contractual. The whole tire industry seems very territorial up here. Car and motorcycle tires are generally twice the price (after currency conversion) in the Great White North compared to US advertised prices.

And yes, I believe the rears are original. No signs of cracking yet. I assumed they would be next 6 years ago when I put the AT2s on the front, but they're still hanging in there!

Curious. The Amazon link lists the tires as having a Load Index of 78, speed rating B (=30mph) and max load of 937lbs. None of that is printed on the sidewall.

The sidewall does caution not to apply more than 36psi when seating the bead. If that is considered the maximum pressure then I suppose it's possible the max load at 36 psi is 937lbs, but I sure wouldn't count on it! Not for use with a FEL anyway -- maybe one could get away with it on a golf cart.

Mind you, a 3,700lb golf cart would be quite a sight! Sounds like something Rodney Dangerfeild might drive. <lol> (Caddyshack movie reference)

There are some folks down here (Texas) that have limousine golf carts that could be getting up there! Six seats, sound systems, lift kits, racks, lights, and all the bling. Yeah, I'm definitely buying a 900# rating per tire for that application!

Fast forwarding another year! I still have the original Pillow Dia's on front and back. I feel pretty committed to buying the Kenda K513 (Front) and K505(Rear). Issues is to find the 20.5x8-10 in stock. I call places and they laugh at me for thinking they have stock. I saw that they make the K513 in a 20.0x8.00-10.00. I understand the tire is about 0.5" smaller and about ~0.5" wider. Does that a huge difference in control and maneuverability?

On my B7200, there was a small amount of binding with the 20-8x10 when doing the 4x4 push test, but I doubt it would be enough to damage the machine. I would try to find a set of the correct 20.5 because they are out there.....

I put a set of the previously mentioned PREDATOR! tires on my B7100 and it seems to be fine. Ran it for a good while this weekend doing some spring prep. They seem to be a tickle wider than the stock 20.5's but inflated up to about the same diameter with the chunky treads.

So if I'm reading things right, I do have some leway on size? I have the B7100D that wants the 20.5 x 8 x 10. Looking at the Carlisle all trail, size 20/10 - 10. Will these tires go on my rims please.

I wonder how well they would work on the Series 80 Kubota tractors. Seems like they might be the answer to low-capacity front tires that the factory installs on the BX as OEM tires.

Ok, so I get the Carlisle 20/10 10 tires delivered today & I could tell immediately that they will not fit. So I measure across the Carlisle & read 10 inches. I go & measure across the rim on the tractor & it measures 13 inches. They are Bridgestone tires & there's no size on the tire, except says 6 - 12, 4 ply. I went by what the book says thinking I'd be fine. But I don't know maybe someone changed rims before I got the tractor. Pisses me off this has to be so stupid confusing. What does 6 - 12 mean? Can I but any 6 - 12 & they will fit on the 13" rim? If anyone can please help. Thank you

Well I found these on Amazon (see pic). Wish I had measured rim on tractor. They are 6 ply. A bit stiffer I'd guess but we aren't racing with it.

Oh goodness, you have the Ag tire setup. Not the turf tires. The B7100 was sold in two tire configurations, with unique wheel rims for each configuration.

6-12 is the tire size you need for your fronts and you can get them from Amazon.
