Has anyone used the Titan 46 inch pallet forks that are a fixed mount. They seem to be the economy model for $299. Looking for a set of forks for L2501. Thanks!

Yes I have a set, and a set of the $150 clamp on ones for the occasional narrow pallet. They both work great so far on my L2501.

Thanks Mainah, Any issues with the clamp on style bending the bucket? I was looking at those as an option to. My goal is to be moving trees to a sawmill over some rough terrain and i was thinking the bouncing my cause some deflection in the clamp on style forks.

You have a nice tractor, why go for the cheapest "econo" set thats made overseas. You paid up for a high quality tractor, don't dress it up with the cheapest jewelry you can find. At least step up to regular style adjustable forks, they are 100 times more useful.

Good advice from Kenny. I would not use bucket mounted quick forks for hauling logs out of the woods. You'll be spending more $ for a new bucket than on some better forks.

You have already pick up on the problem with that style of fork.

You probably don't take your bag of groceries from the car and carry them at arms length to the house! You carry something 3' in front of your bucket and eventually you have a nice smile on it's edge.

I think that's why they are listed on CL for $100 every once in a while.

A grapple would do you much better at moving logs.
I've moved thousands of logs and that's the most efficient way to do it. ;)

All good points and I agree, quality tractor needs quality attachments!!

With a grapple would that hinder how much the loader can lift, I know the loader is only (on paper) to lift like 1032lbs. I was thinking the forks would be less weight allowing the loader to lift a little bit more.
I can see the grapple as a BIG help however!

If you do get pallet forks get them adjustable. I have the titan ones they are cheap you get what you pay for. I have bx so they are over built for my needs, with L you may want to look at a better brand.

No, but I’m careful about what I lift with them. I unloaded a 4” pto chipper, about 650 lbs, and a 500 lb stove and that’s as far as I’ll go with them. The chipper made the rear wheels light even with my 64” snowblower on for ballast and that didn’t bend anything. Narrow pallets are the only reason I used them in both cases. The bigger issue with these is keeping them from moving with weight on them. You need to hammer the screws tight and put a ratchet strap on them if you can’t use the stabilizer bar between them and I couldn’t in either case because the pallets were too narrow.
They’re excellent for moving brush and logs as long as you watch the weight. I’m not sure the L2501 / LA525 combo can lift enough to bend anything or cause any issues, but better safe than sorry. I like the longer reach with the bucket when I’m moving brush though. Keeps it further from the tractor.
In the end it comes down to frequency of use and intended use. If I was moving pallets of all sizes a lot I’d spend $700 or so on a 48” adjustable set. But for occasional use I have two sets that give me a little more flexibility at times and I saved $300. YMMV

Piece of advice, get on Titans website and then on their mailing list. They are always running specials and deals for their products.

Do you have the universal skid steer attach?

I bought these 36" Titan brand forks last month. They weigh 300lbs and are built pretty stout. Cost $454 that included shipping, they arrived 7 days later. Noticed they increased the price to $504 recently.
Railroad cross ties weigh about 200lbs each and the 2501 lifted everything with no problem.

Hey there Inthepines do I see a mod to your front grill guard? Looks like some sort of mesh wire covering. Could you elaborate as to why and what it is?

Thanks

This my temporary solution until I decide exactly what type of welded guard to have fabricated. Only owned the tractor about a month.
With less than $20 in material (galv. 4 ga. hardware cloth 1" square wire x2 layers, 1/2" x 1" wire in between, paint, and zip ties).
It really works well for what it is. Just a quick fix until later.

Pretty cool for a temporary fix. This may help out when bush hogging. Are you thinking about installing lights on the ROPS if the wire distorts the tractor headlights? Thanks for the pics and info.

Hope I'm not too late to join in here. I have an L3901. I am looking into pallet forks as well. I've seen the less expensive ones out there. I got a price from my dealer for a Woods PF4448 for $990. A lot pricier than what I've found on line, but Woods is a great brand, and I paid for a quality tractor and don't want to be disappointed. Any feed back?
