I have the same machine and love it.I have a Hyperthem Powermax 1000 G3 and it slices through 1" steel like butter, slower speed, 1/2" and under, I can blow thought it like Darth Vaders light saber. Sure makes you want to throw rocks at the oxy acet set up, but they have their place too.
Having the power of the sun at your finger tips is awesome. I have those stainless templates for cutting circles, squares, trailer light holes including those oval truck lights.
Nice narrow kerf, with a straight edge, little cleanup grinding and no pre heating metal before cutting, stone cold, you are in and out. 1/4" steel, after I cut it with plasma, I can pick up up bare handed in about 10 minutes, oxy acet cut, 3rd degree burns.
What a great time to be alive, all this cool technology.

Here's an old boring video of one of my plasma cut design and build projects that shows the quality of plasmacuts once dialed in. My welding sucks but plasma cuts by the Hypertherm 45 are all beautiful. The biggest challenge was building the cnc table back then before Cheap Chinese controllers and components. If you go to the end, you can see the finished project. That is a very nice kerf.
It says 1.25 thick steel but only a seperation cut. Ive done 1 inch easily. That's a lot of capacity for single phase.
