We get those pileated most every day on the suet. They are pretty skittish of any movement in the house though.

Mine was real hard to get photo through the patio window like you posted flew away.

Got a work around later put camera on tripod. Using WIFI on phone to operate camera :)

My friend and I had a wonderful time three weeks ago in Arizona, just enjoying warm temps, blue sky, and dry dirt to walk on instead of slogging through mud.

Years ago we were riding dirt bikes north of Phoenix and came across a crashed dirt bike, but no rider evident. Further investigation revealed a rider at the bottom of a wash, 90 percent covered in cholla cactus arms. He had crashed and rolled down into the wash through a thick patch of cholla. He was unconscious, and having trouble breathing. Everything except his face & head was covered, only his helmet & shield had spared those parts. We sent our fastest guy for help, and he found the rest of his party out looking for him. One of his group was a nurse, and we loaded him (with a blanket) into their truck and they took him to the hospital. He spent 2 days & nights in ICU, but recovered. Hospital stopped counting at 4000 needles removed. (with pliers)

While I lived in AZ, I had a wolf that loved to go for walks in the desert.
One walk he ended up stepping in a cholla, he was a saint he let me pick him up and lay him across my shoulders, which was a chore since he was 105 lbs.
I carried him about a mile and then laid him down on the tailgate of the truck and that dude let me pull the cactus out of his paws, not easy to do, he was one tough dude, and let me do it without eating me! ;)

If you going to be out with the cholla, carry a comb, easiest way to dislodge them.
All guys will cringe story:
Out with a few guys camping/shooting. One guy went to answer nature's call. He dropped his drawers, and proceeded to do his business. Unknown to him, when he dropped his pants, his belt apparently brushed a cholla, dropping an arm into his underwear. I will let your imagination take over from there.

The sun going down in Rangeley Maine. The Rangeley area is beautiful in the summer and in the winter they have some of the best snowmobiling around.

Here is a shot of the NH/Canada border crossing for snowmobiles.

Canada has some of the best snowmobiling in the world and is always a great time.

Great day yesterday. I did a 1/2 mile dirt road next to a nice lake.

It is a 50 year old road that aside from wash-outs over the years, has never been worked on.

8 hours with the box blade then 2 hours with the rake.
