Just received word that the Del Morino Centurion Super 158 has shipped! Not sure of the delivery date yet but it shouldn't be much more than a week from MI to MT.

I thought spring was here so removed the snow blower and front blade weeks ago .... and then woke up to this!!! If I had two tractors I could have left the MX set up for winter. This moisture will no doubt be good for the grass but it might be a few weeks before I get to try out the flail mower but will certainly report back.

The Del Morino arrived at the receiving depot in town and is scheduled for delivery this Wednesday, but this is what I woke up to this morning. 2" to 3" of snow and elk all around the house. This weather is all over the place so it might be a few weeks before I cut anything, although there's some woody stuff that I might have a go at.

I was wondering about that. I may end keeping both, it just depends on how well the flail mower works on my property.

I ordered a Del Morino Centurion Super 158. I like the offset feature and the ability to cut embankments which is another feature I can really use. There are lots of area I can't cut with the rotary cutter. Total weight is supposedly 820lb and I opted for the hammers rather than the Y blades. I figure that the hammers will hold up better to the conditions I typically encounter.

I picked up the Del Morino Centurion Super 158 flail today. The freight company couldn't deliver it since it was too awkward for them to handle with a pallet jack. I went over with the flatbed trailer and managed to get it home without incident.

I'll be honest and say that I'm more than a little disappointed with either Good Works Tractors and/or the freight company. I'm going to call Del Morino to find out how they ship their mowers to the US. My bet is that they're in a metal framed crate the way that Kubota ships things. The pallet and shipping was a joke and there's some cosmetic damage to the implement that I'll need to address. At the very least I need a can of touch up paint.

It was difficult getting the mower off the pallets, and even getting it off the trailer was a challenge. However, I managed to hook it up to the tractor sans the driveshaft and get the hoses set up such that the levers in the cab work the way I want them to. I install the Outback Wrap hose markers tomorrow. It's a quality implement for sure and I'm looking forward to running it on the MX6000 and/or M6060.

Here's how the mower showed up before I touched anything. The driveshaft was loose and laying on the back of the cutter. You can see a bunch of paint worn off on the drive belt cover. There's other minor damage too but this is the worst of it.

Unacceptable for an almost $7k implement.

I forgot to mention but the hydraulics are FAST on this mower.

Update:

I've gone back and forth with Courtney at Good Works Tractors and he's been very responsive and very apologetic for something that he didn't have much if any control over. I found some more damage in the form of a bent rod that the front shield flaps rotate on. Courtney will ship a new rod to me, find out what paint color I need to match the finish, and he gave me a 15% refund which I'm happy with.

As I told him, I would have paid an extra $500 to have the flail show up in perfect condition, but as it is, it's here and I'll correct the issues, use it and enjoy it.

Courtney is the owner of Good Works Tractors. I like his YouTube videos and he's a genuinely good guy. I'll do more business with him, no doubt about that.
