I noticed that my snowblower lift cylinder was leaking last year, and it is also 3 years old. Since this cylinder is common to a lot of other Kubota products, I picked up a spare this past summer that I will swap with the K Connect cylinder. Then I will rebuild that cylinder and hope for the best. I have the identical cylinder on the chute deflection and my snow plow. For both of those items, the cylinder is a lot older and has never leaked. I believe that Kubota just had a bad lot, and everyone is paying the price of having to fix the issue. They are only warranted for 1 year from purchase.

Hello everyone, same thing with myself. I have a bx1880 with 54” blower, used 2 seasons and attached it this year and the cylinder is leaking a pool of hydro on the floor. Hopefully getting the oil hot & exercising it will remedy it. There’s no way a 150hr grass cutter should have a leaking blower cylinder after so little use.
Update: cylinder leaking again 2nd year after seal kit. Hydraulic guy said Kubota used a cheap o-ring for the seal which flattens out on one side, said if it happened again he’d put a gland seal in it. I guess it needs a gland seal now!

It sounds more like you need a quality cylinder from another manufacturer. The snowplow angle cylinders never failed me after 10 +years of HARD service, maybe you can plumb one of them or similar ?

I am confused by your hydraulic guy's comment.

If the cylinder is leaking externally that IS the gland seal not the piston seal.

Is this a bx2810 quick hitch?

If BX2820, it's a 2" x 5" cylinder ( not normal...)
but.... maybe a 2 x 4 would be OK ,just won't raise snowblower up as high.
$125......

You also need to consider retracted length in that calculation. A "shorter" 2 x 6 may be equivalent. Its also pretty easy to shorten the rod on a clevis end cylinder.
