I agree and would recommend 5’ both for the blade and cutter.I've read that bush hog size was 1 foot per 5 HP. A five-footer would probably be OK as long as you didn't try to do some serious land clearing.
Steve.
I had New Holland TC24, TC33 and have an LX2610 - I've always only cut in Low because if I've always only used a cutter for clearing wild overgrown land. And much of the time I'm backing up to scrub brush and lowering the cutter down onto the scrub grinding it down.I would agree with both, BUT much more important - IF you grab too much anything with the box blade, it will lose traction - so smaller bites depending on material.
Same is true with rotary cutter - what speed will you operate in? L - M - H? how tall is the grass? What RPM you plan on cutting in?
My LX2610 handles a 5 footer with ease - grinding the scrub brush down. Occasionally when I get into 2 to 3 inch stuff it will slow down some so I just slow the rate of descent on the cutter and give it more time to grind its way down.I've read that bush hog size was 1 foot per 5 HP. check out about page 30 of your operators manual.Dealer said the L3302 can handle a 6' box blade. Sound right? Also, what size rotary cutter ( brush hog) ?
Don't own one. Thinking about one.check out about page 30 of your operators manual.
of course much comes into play like commercial/homeowners use, type of soil, type of brush, etc..... but the Kubota Op. Manual will likely have you conclude these sizes are to large.
gotcha... here is a free pdf download from Kubota.Don't own one. Thinking about one.
