Just found this site and I am ssooo glad I did. Wealth of info here. I have a problem...oil pressure light came on while running my L2250. Noticed prior to a solid on light the light was staying lit for 20 seconds when first started. Now it won't go off. Removed oil filter to see if oil was being pumped..start engine...no oil coming out. No oil in filter or minimal amount. Question is what to do. Is oil pump internel? Hard job? Thanks for any help.

Look through the posted threads. There are several with low oil pressure. Lots of info there.
I'd start by pulling the pan to see if the oil pickup screen and pipe has fallen off.

Thanks for the help. Will do as suggested asap but due to some weather problems here, trees down , no power....on standby for now. Question, how does the from drive shaft come off so I can remove pan...??

Hey Vic...where is the bypass relief valve on a L2250? Took oil filter mounting bracket off and nothing in there. Removed oil pressure idiot switch, started for a few seconds,no oil coming out. Would the idiot light be on if bypass tripped? So no oil coming out where filter (removed) should be either. Thanks..KevinI'd chek the oil filter bypass relief valve as well. It's right there by the filter. It may be stuck. If OK, then onto the sump!
Did you still have the oil filter mounting houseing offf when you started it? Oil should have squirted out the side. If no oil came out, then it's oil pump or screen and tube off.

Hooked a hose to the threaded pipe that the oil filter screws onto...blew air thru it....started again...no oil!!! What's the model # of that eng. I think it's right on a flat spot of the block next to the fuel pump.

NO, relief valve is in the oil filter houseing. It's just a ball and spring. It allows excessive (60 psi + ),pressure to bleed off. Hardly ever a problem, but sometimes a piece of trash will stop them from seating and pressure will bleed off. Not all of the pressure, just some, causes low oil pressure. That's not your problem.

Morning IPZ........thanks for you tips and insight. Imagine my problem is the pump or pickup. Enjoy your weekend, nice and hot here in Mi. for a change.
NICE is not a word I use to describe hot. It's Sat and I've been outside working all day. Been in twice to change clothes. Sweat soaked from head to toe.
I just had an idea. Wonder if we can get that one bolt on the oil pan above the axle by removeing the 2 bolts beside it, then useing an air powered hack saw to cut the head off. The pan would only have to drop down 1/8th inch to slide off the stud. At least you could ck the oil pickup screen that way. A little extra silicone on the gasket goeing back in and it wouldn't leak. Look at yours and see what you think.
