This interests me, but raises a question:

Does this measure absolute level of inclination, or does is somehow measure the angle of inclination relative to the tractor? In other words, if you're grading directly down and trying to maintain a 10 degree slope with the tractor, will a 0 degree (bucket edge "even" with the imaginary line drawn through the contact patch of the front and rear tires) reading on the inclinometer match the 10 degree slope that the tractor is on?
Thinking about your question it can be done either way if I understand your question right. I think its set to measure absolute zero like a bubble level would. I assume it uses mercury bubbles/switches inside.

The current angle iron level on the tractor that kubota puts on- that shows the level of the bucket relative to the ground I guess? If your tractor is on a slope then the angle iron would also be sloped down with you - so to use the angle iron - you would move it level to be level with the ground and not the tractor? Both my properties are mostly flat so I never thought of that problem/feature

When I say the inclinometer I have can be used both ways - it's because you can reset the absolute 0 on it. So I would normally have it set for zero to be set to absolute level (that any bubble level would achieve). But if I had a project on a slope that I wanted to be graded with the slope I could set the 10% incline lets say to be 0. Now if the incline isn't consistent then not sure its gonna work out. *shrug*

Another tweaker in the group....
I wouldnt want to guess at the dollar figure.
First rule of fight club is we don't talk about how much our toys/hobbies cost us. Lest we invite wife rage! :D

I know exactly how much everything is so far - but she only knows a soft number :) I probably spend too much time tweaking things. Could probably just leave things alone, but that ain't me.....

Racer,

that thing has no idea what level truly is - in other words, unlike a real "level" that uses gravity to guide a bubble, this device will read whatever it is set to read, if you set it on a level floor and pushed the ZERO button - it will give you anything relative to the floor, if you place it on your bucket on level ground and then try to smooth out a 10 degree slope downward - it will read 10 degrees, but here is the problem - you will not know that the slope is 10 degree UNTIL you place the bucket flat to the slope - and there is no way that you know that you are flat to the slope until you see for yourself;), then IF THE slope stays at 10 degrees - then you would not need to move the bucket.

Using the bucket to cut is easy enough to look at the factory piece of metal, if some odd reason you need to grade a little gravel or dirt (push or pull a little) the backdrag or laying the bucket down, edge up will do the work.

I find I can "feel" the bucket on the ground through the joystick - now I have cut a many of too much dirt when I thought I was level....but the ground was NOT - therefor I cut into the ground too much. Your mind must match the bucket indicator to the surrounding lay of the land, otherwise it too is useless.

Now this device's sender would be nice to place ON THE tractor at 90 degrees, so when you are on a 22 degree slope cutting a hill side sideways - you would know where the pucker facts starts....as that angle starts to get up there - you would know where to start turning BACK down the hill.:)

They make small magnetic ones also for the pucker factor if you wanted. Get a bubble level. Level out the tractor. Attach one of the self contained units on to your tractor and your off. Start seeing 22 degrees or more and you can pucker :D

or this works too I guess

MAN  that sure beats the hell out of using a protractor to get the blade angle right:D

The Kubota buckets about 20 years ago had these cool "level indicators" welded behind the upper bucket edge that indicated the angle of the lower bucket lip. Wonder why they did away with these? Seemed like a great idea.

Sounds like another machine found a great home. Of course, without pictures, we really can't be sure Forceten isn't a twelve year-old Kubota-driving wannabe! :D

Fun... that is what life is all about isn't it?

My 2023 L47 has those on each top corner of the bucket. Labelled "not for lifting/pulling.
